A disturbing trend.....

Jaime, I didn't send them to you at home.  I sent them to the office since I figured you were off showing this weekend.  And, I figured you get to have a life too. But since you've invited me to invade your weekend.......but I am not the only one getting unpleasant PM's.  Do you want me to give your home addy to the others???
 
Now that I think about it, yes, my PM's always tell me who they are from, but this email couldn't have come through the board because the sender would HAVE to be a registered user and it could be traced that way..  I get a lot of emails from the forum and a lot of PM's.....but I'm thinking it has to be someone who Emailed me that I responded to with a recipe or something and they just saved my addy for future use.  I don't discriminate when someone emails me for a recipe or suggestions....I just answer.  And that means that I hit reply so the addy is out there.
 
Ron, the ONLY time I tune you out is when you start getting scientific on me!!  And that's just cuz it's too much work to follow!  I'm very right brained and remember, the TV signal is still just magic to me!  I don't ignore you MOST of the time tho!

I can still offer you a complete and detailed description of how t.v. works, if you really want it. My major in college was EE.

Nah, Ron. That's ok.  I think we'll just leave it as magic.  I don't care if you are the very best teacher in the world, or how simply you explain it, my brain just fails to comprehend that kind of stuff.  It can do complex accounting or create a flower garden on a wall, but when it comes to science, the old brain just shuts down.

I'm fairly new to this group and I must say that the rude folks should be outed.  If they don't have the nerve to  "badmouth" you on the foum and do so on your private email, then they are fair game.  Running a forum is hard enough without having to deal with people without a clue to civility.

You know Glenda, some people are just @ssholes...they have no other pleasure in life except trying to make other people feel bad. I haven't been here long but I have read a LOT of what you posted in the past and I really respect what you have to say. I like to think the majority here does to.
The people that email you and try to make you feel bad will probably be alone all their life and bitter because they cant make any friends. Attacking someones opinon is one thing, family is another...

Some people are just sick. Glenda has family members that are sick and because you don't like her, you say something cruel like that? You are a very sick person, who ever you are. It makes me sick to my stomach to think what this moron said to you.  Glenda, you know you are so loved here. Just because some goof, has nothing better to do, and obviously is p'd with thier own life, they still do not have the right to do that to you. You take care, and you and your family are always in my prayers.

Honestly, I was more upset about someone ELSES PM than I was my little nastygram.  It just annoys the heck out of me that folks hold grudges for MONTHS and months and then attack when they think that you might be vulnerable.  But with me, they made a mistake.  What was probably designed to reduce me to tears just really PI$$ED me off!  [:@]Being a tough old broad has some distinct advantages. Playing devils advocate here(as usual []). But i have a few questions for you Glenda from your first post here []

1) Why would anyone report pm's to you?

2) You said you will not waste any energy on the person who e-mailed you,but isnt that exactly what you're doing by starting this thread?

3) Sometimes when members get into little tiffs,you are one of the first to interject and tell them to take it off the forum to pm or e-mail.Do different rules apply to different people?

4) Why did you start this thread?

Before anyone says anything i dont know anything about glenda's family problems,and i too think the e-mail sent saying nasty things about them is way below the belt.I have never sent you or anyone else a nasty e-mail. I may just have another view about things than some others here about this whole thing.

I'm not sure why you would feel the need to post that you have never sent me a nasty email.  Now, to answer your questions.
 
1)  I happen to have a lot of friends on this forum.  No one REPORTS nasty PM's to me, but they do share them and vent.  Very often I am able to calm people down and sooth their ruffled feathers so that WWIII does NOT erupt either on or off the forum.  These people know that I give a spit about them.
 
2) Perhaps.  But I also wanted to bring to the attention of everyone that SOME forum members are acting like dorks and remind everyone to behave more appropriately.  Again, the PM's that prompted me to start this thread were NOT directed to me.
 
3) No they do not.  And yes, I do suggest folks take their spats off forum.  However, in that we are all adults, I do not expect them to act like mud-slinging little kids.
 
4)  See answer number 2.
 
Every single person on this forum deserves to be treated with respect, either on or off forum, and I don't care how mad someone is, or how long they have carried around the grudge, abusing the privledges of this forum should be discouraged.

Edie, I generally try to answer anything directed at me.  It's no secret that you aren't my biggest fan, and that's fine, so it doesn't surprise me that you have  a somewhat different take on this.  Others probably do as well but didn't want to post.  And that's ok too.  It takes a LOT to offend me.

No, not e-mails, but PM's.

You know I can understand getting pissed off at someone to the point where you might pm them to tell them to go eff themselves but to pm someone to tell them hateful things when they and their family are going through tough times is just beneath the beneath. As far as I'm concerned, there's no justification for that.
