My current dogs could care less about the tv unless the doorbell rings onit.

but my previous dog, a norflok terrier was mesmerized by it. She would only watch shows that had animals with 4 legs. Snakes, fish etc --no reaction.

She would also go up to the tv and smell it and then try to get behind the tv to find the animals.

Watching westminster with her became quite a challenge. We finally had to shut her out of the room.

Roxie LOVES tv. She likes anything. The little maltese that I watch every now and again in my apartment is too funny. When someone rings a doorbell...watch out. haha

About 5-6 years ago when my parent's dog was a young pup, there were a couple AT&T commercials that had a bouncing blue ball. Now, I know that dogs can't see colors, but Maizy's favorite ball was, and still is, a blue racketball. Whenever that commercial came on, her head came up, and you could see her eyes and head following the ball. One of the commercials had the ball bounce at the screen and eventually "break" the glass. She would get so excited! Catch and retrieve is one of her favorite things to do and I think she thought someone was throwing that ball just to her.

I've caught Buddy looking at the tv recently, but mostly it is in response to a dog barking or a baby crying. He really hasn't watched it or I just haven't seen him.

Roxie only becomes interested if she sees another dog moving on the screen or if one barks. It is cute to see her prance around the TV for other dogs ... unless I'm seriously watching whatever's on. Then, it's semi-annoying. [

] She doesn't really care about doorbells or knocking, though.

My Dog LOVES those TV commercials with animals (even cartoon ones).... He barks, cries, and jumps up and down in front of the TV until I tell him to be quiet. .He especially love one where a cat jumps off to the right... Sam will run to the window to the right of the TV to see where the cat went. Basically anything with animals he'll just sit and stare at.
