So SICK of the neighbors!

I am so SICK of the neighbors across the street! The father is constantly yelling and cussing at the kids, the son stands behind our house and smokes pot, the daughter...don't get me started on the daughter!

And then there's the dogs! Two of the most ill behaved, obnoxious animals I've ever met. They bark all hours of the day and night, one of them is aggressive...I've had it!

I took Strauss for a walk today (Well, I was attempting to...we don't do walkies in the neighborhood very often), and one of the %*(@#&#%#( dogs busts THROUGH the open screen window of the house...and lights into my dog?!WTF!?

So, now out of 9 dogs in the neighborhood (two of which living at my house), Strauss has been attacked by THREE. A Golden Retriever, a Labrador Retriever, and some old mix.

So, my vicious vicious Shepherd has been bitten (but luckily unscathed thanks to a thick ruff) by two breeds who are notoriously deemed as "Friendly pets." The same Lab that attacked my Shepherd tried to go after me once too. The dog is a coward at best, and is obviously dog aggressive (Except to the dog in his family for some reason). When he tried to go after me, I yelled "GET ON! G'WAN HOME!" And I stomped my foot which sent him packing back across the street.

The jerk of a dog is wandering around MY YARD p****** on MY bushes, threatening ME with bared teeth, and yet, I'm a person that is deemed to have a dangerous/vicious breed of dog!

I've called animal control, and they won't do a freaking thing if there is no injury to my dog or damage to my property (They don't consider him peeing on my bushses as damage). So WTH do I do? I can't even walk Strauss in our own neighborhood because the "Friendly family dogs" go after him!

He's always VERY good in all of this, and lets me take care of it, but you know what? It drives me to tears. my dog gets attacked, and what do I get? Absolutely NOTHING. AC does nothing, the stupid jerk dog owner doesn't even apologize let alone offer to pay for any medical bills I may incur for any injuries Mouse may have.

So, where's the justice for my dog and I? I wish they'd move away and take their ill tempered dogs with them.

Pepper spray? I bet that would make the dogs think twice.

It's illegal around here, and I wouldn't want to mess wiht that nasty stuff for fear of getting myself or my dog instead of my attacker (human or animal).

Cattle prod perhaps......just kidding....sort of.....

...they sell them at TSC--you can even try them out, as theyare fully funtional even in the store.....[sm=lol.gif]

well,if pepper spray is out(legal here as far as i know,and i would still carry my small container if it wasnt)then maybe a small spray bottle filled with some nasty (yet non lethal)concoction.The bad dogs would think twice about comming at you or the pup again.The small pepper spray containers are easy to use,and very concealable.It would be a cold day in hell before i let some neighbor push me or my dogs around..

having had trouble with neighboring dogs - you can buy these electronic devices that have the electric eyes and you can place them in various spots around your home. They emit a high noise when the line is crossed. Just remember to shut them off when you take your dogs out.
I nearly bought one but my neighbors smartened up after receiving various fines for various doggie issues
I did an online search for dog repellents and those popped up

Things like that aren't an option right now. I can't afford things like that, it's too expensive. Money in general is an issue.

I just wish AC would do what my taxes pay them for and DO something

If you hooked your hose up, would the stream of water reach the dog peeing on your lawn? There is also a motion sensor sprinkler, but it's a bit pricey.

While you're walking, some direct stop or a mix of water and vinegar might do the trick.

The hose in the front is busted (of course), and though the hose in the back would reach, considering this dog's temperament, I really don't want to cause confrontation unless absolutely necessary.

The only reason I told him to get on home the first time was because I had no other choice. There's no way I'm dumb enough to turn my back on that dog.

Isn't there something else that works like pepper spray? I think it's called *Direct Stop* (not 100% sure of the name) and as far as I know it's not illegal anywhere.

Straight vinegar in a squirt bottle should do the trick. It is cheap and ought to run the dogs off!

You have my sympathy. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have dogs. One of our neighbours has had a range of dogs over the years... the first one killed every cat in the neighbourhood before he was finally put to sleep, the second savaged a kid's hand and was put to sleep, the third got himself lost, the fourth was a delight and died of old age after being taken in by a sympathetic neighbour when they stopped feeding her, the fifth ran away and the latest one hanged itself to death when it jumped off their verandah while being tied at the top. We're all praying that they've given up on the notion of keeping dogs, because whatever they do with them, it's not what I'd call 'keeping'.

Hang in there, Xeph, and do what you can to keep your dogs safe from those idiots.

actually those electronic things I saw weren't expensive - trust me, if I was considering buying one they were not pricey

these aren't pricey....and hoses are cheap too - especially when it comes to protecting yourself and your dogs

The hose in front isn't the issue. The actual faucet is broken. Can't turn it on.

And while 17.95 looks cheap to you, I have about $40 left in my bank account to last me until next month. I'm working my butt off to find a second job, but nobody has called me. I'm off work for a month because my boss had major surgery. I can't afford those things, and I'm borrowing money from friends and family so I can make it until I start work again.

The only other money I have to my name is the emergency medical fund for the dogs, and I won't touch that, because as soon as I do, obviously one of the dogs will get hurt and I won't have money to pay for it.
