So SICK of the neighbors!

trust me...I hear ya (just got back from taking my son school shopping and I thank the stars he's my last one!!!). Hate using the credit card but had to.
Truck needs $600 worth of work and we're trying to save up for that cause it won't pass inspection in October. So YES I can definitely relate and we both work.
BUT - my logic being what is the cost of fixing the outside faucet or purchasing one of these repellent items compared to the cost of potential injury to either yourself or one of your dogs from the neighboring dogs.
I'd want to know if the neighbors had homeowner's insurance....there's an idea ask them if they do. Tell them you would like the info just in case you have to submit a claim against them due to injury from their dogs - maybe that'll wake them up a bit.

That would drive me crazy too.  You have every right to live in peace with the breed of your choice and NOT be harassed by other dogs that are apparently so "friendly" that they don't need to be trained.

Actually, Ben's first trainer THANKED me for bringing my Lab in to be trained.  She said that with a lot of the breeds considered to be "ideal" family dogs, like Labs and Goldens, owners simply assume their dog will grow up to be a perfect pet without benefit of training, so they just don't bother.

I wouldn't bother with animal control, but go straight to the police.  I know it sounds harsh, but the son smoking pot is enough for them to get out there and check it out.  You can also metion the very aggressive dog to them.  If animal control gets a call from the police instead of an "angry neighbor," they may be more likely to investigate.  You can also file noise complaints with the police for the barking.  My mom had to do that several times with her neighbors because the dogs barked ALL the time.

Have you tried talking to these people, or maybe mail them a letter telling your concern?
As mean as this may sound ( but remember you are concerned for your saftey) Can you get a pellet gun or paint ball gun from someone?  I don't know if you have read on my nasty neighbors dogs before, but I have had enough. I have a fully loaded paint ball gun under my bed for the next doggie visit. I would never ever want to hurt an animal, but the straw has broken this camels back.[;)]

Thanks marynh, for the suggestions.  I'll be hearing back this week about a job I applied for (I'm crossing my fingers...it's $550/wk).

Once I find out whether or not I get this job (if I don't, there's another one I will be getting for sure), I can afford to buy those repllent things (becuase once I move, my mum can still use them).

I can't wait for these money constraints to be off

I agree with ColleenC, my mom had to call the police because she had a neighbor that would NOT listen & ac had a pre-recorded message to call the police if there was a problem with animals.
You shoul can take some photos of this dog invading your property too, that would be proof in case you end up in court.  If you have (or a friend has) a digital camera, or one that stamps the date on the photo, use it every time the dogs in your yard.
I don't know if this would work, how about a baggie of ground black pepper you could throw in the dogs face if it gets too close to you or your dog when walking?  Black pepper is legal.
    Good luck!

They never CATCH the son is the problem >.<  When he gets caught by us or the neighbors, he goes home, and by the time the cops get around to him, there isn't any left on him.
