Proctor and Gamble being veeery tempting! lol

LOL.  You make a good point, Joyce, and you have a humorous way of putting it.  But I still think it's a numbers game.  There are more people with the skill to do a bypass surgery than there are people with the skills of say, John Elway.

And exactly what is this "hard work" you refer to? Aren't you a college kid, or weren't you, until maybe 10 minutes ago? I know the pressure of trying to decide which party to attend this weekend can be intense but, trust me, the work you do in college pales when compared to that involved in a high level job.

My daughter is about to start her senior year as a biochemistry major and I know she works hard at her studies. Papillon is majoring in animal nutrition which also involves a lot of chemistry. Majors involving science require a lot of study and hard work; my daughter has a GPA of 4.0; she didn't get it by going to parties; she wants to go to grad school and knows it takes good grades to get in. I'm sure papillon worked very hard for her phD as my daughter will have to.

Billy, You're the one who encouraged "kinder gentler" nutrition posts; I'm surprised at how you're attacking papillon.

Wow papillion - can you come up here tonight and share a little of that magic with DH?  He's been looking for four months for a job closer to our new home - he has a two hour commute presently.

I don't think "tempting" quite describes it.  It's not illegal.  It's not immoral.  It's not on another planet.  [:D]  Go for it!

I really don't think it's at all surprising that one of the Big Guns has "found" someone who has some experience doing what they need done - I suspect they would rather she work for them than allow Natural Balance to get her, for sure!  Although I'm rather sad for NB - you can see now why it's difficult to get good help with the money the megacorps have to throw around.

    Congratulations!

Well, I am not attacking anyone, I am questioning the credibility of the story she posted here.  I was VERY careful not to step over the line and frankly, that is quite difficult in a case like this.  Difficult, but not impossible.  Secondly, this is most definitely NOT a nutrition thread.  [:)]

Let me ask you something now, please.  Do you find it credible that someone with whom she has never had contact, somehow manages to find her, first of all, then this person, without any kind of appointment, walks into her office with an employment contract for a quarter of a million dollar starting salary?  Does that seem likely to you?

In case you missed what I had said earlier (which surprises me since you have been analyzing every word here), the lady who came to see me was really good friends (went to grad. school together) with the head of the department of graduate nutrition studies here at NCSU, who happens to be the person I have done all of my TA work for.  She is the one who helped me conduct my research and told her friend about me (the ;person from PG) when she found they were looking for someone in the position I stated above...

That wasn't the point; you were arguing for more congeniality on the forum.

Have you read papillon's third post on the second page of this thread? I had no reason to doubt her OP, but for anyones that does, the post I'm referring to should dispel any doubts. The way you describe the events is much different than the way papillon describes them.

Well folks, I've humored this thread a while even if it was posted in the WRONG topic area...

This has nothing to do with food and the employment debate can find it's way to the NDR area of this forum if you'd like to continue this. I am closing THIS thread and moving it
