American Idol

When Mandisa got voted off, the only other person I wanted to watch and felt could be the American Idol was Chris and now that he's gone, I'm done. Katherine does nothing for me at all. I started out enjoying Taylor, but he has worn on my nerves so much that I can't stand to even watch him at all anymore. Elliott is talented, but same as Katherine for me.

I really hope Chris gets a great record deal and surpasses any amount of success that American Idol could have given him.

You echoed my thoughts exactly !  Tons of people on another board are talking about how arrogant Chris is, esepecially after the show during all the follow-up interviews.  I've never gotten that from him and in fact posted that I've never seen Taylor have a humble moment yet !  I think he has consistantly felt he deserves to be there and deserves to win.

To each his own, but that along with his style has never appealed to me and I can't see it appealing to the masses - esepecially the teen set.

From what I understood, contestants cannot sign contract for anything until after the American Idol Tour is over, so Chris may have to wait on the Fuel thing.
    • Gold Top Dog
I heard that Fuel signed him for after the idol tour...

I know he mentioned that he had many offers in an interview the next day after getting thrown off AI.

I don't remember how many they start out with originally on AI. My personal thinking is any of the contestants who make it to the top 12, will benefit from the exposure and move on to better and greater things. That includes Ms. Ditz (Kelly) Ugh! Another Dumb Blonde act. Arrrrrrrrgh!

Pardon me, but who is Fuel??
    • Gold Top Dog
They said last year that most of the ones that make it to the top 10 always get offers and possibilities.

Pardon me, but who is Fuel??

Ha hah,,,,,I had to ask the same question,,,good country fan that I am.   ROCK BAND I think was the answer.

    • Gold Top Dog
Well, there ya have it... lol

I was assuming they were a band of some sorts. The new bands of today I am so not familiar with. Am a fan of the old rock style of 60's to 80's but mainly Disco... Ok  I let the cat out of the bag... lol[:D]

Tonights news just said that many fans are calling and saying that they voted for Chris last week and got a message saying "thank you for voting for Katherine!"
Could it be the same thing as last year...or do you think people are trying anything they can think of to bring Chris back???
FOX said NO PROBEM WITH THE PHONES THIS YEAR!
    • Gold Top Dog
I didn't know they had a problem like that last year. Hmmmm kind of makes you think doesn't it. I kind of had a suspicion the voting had to do with the judges and not the American people.

Yes I heard on the radio last Thurs. or Fri. that thousands of fans were complaining that their votes were misdirected to Chris from Katherine. I wondered how they would know that. DUH. [sm=lol.gif] I forgot about the recording after you vote (but it says Thanks for voting for contestant #2, not the name). If it's true, wow what a screw up.

I'm not going to be home tonight when it's on. I can't decide whether to tape it or not. I don't really care all that much if I miss it, but....I suppose I will tape it just in case anything extraordinary happens (like Katherine's dress falls off or Taylor shows some new moves). [sm=lol.gif]

I didn't know they had a problem like that last year.

Last year some of the telephone numbers were switched and they had to do revoting the next day.
Fox said there was NO problems though last week.  Makes you wonder if the fans will try anything..or the show will!!!   LOL!  Good PR though, isn't it???
    • Gold Top Dog
    Absolutely Dyan.

Did you see the show last night. I was unable too since I was house/pet sitting and they do not have TV in their home. [:(] So I missed it completely and DH forgot to record it for me, that is a double [:o][:(] for me.

    How was it?
    • Gold Top Dog
Yep,, saw the show!  They each sang 3 songs so it was good entertainment.  Other then Katherine singing a great version of  "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" though, I was not horribly impresses with them though...guess I'm not a great fan of any that are left.
But tonight Elliott got voted off...what a nice guy he seems.    They each sang a song before they were told who was going home, and I thought they did better tonight then they did last night!!!   Gee, I Katherine has sung "Think" during the voting part of the show as she did tonight,,,I think she might have gotten more votes!!!

Katherine should had gotten kicked off tonight. I can't belive Elliott has left the show. Was hopeing he would stay and be in the last two. But Taylor is going to win the show any ways.. so thats ok with me....

Ok this is from the fuel site [linkhttp://www.fuelweb.com/]http://www.fuelweb.com[/link].  They were looking for a new lead singer when Chris sang fuel's song "Hemorrhage" on AI.  This is what they have to say about it so far.

All right. Check it out. Here's the deal.
Normally, obviously, we would never even think about anyone from Am Idol as a singer for Fuel. However, ever since Chris sang Hemorrhage on the show, we began paying attention. Sorry, the show's not my thing, but at least most of the finalist can sing and aren't Britney Spearing it up there. However, Chris in my opinion has carried himself well on the show and has stayed true to his rock side, which is a serious credit to him considering the format. We have found some great guys through the audition process and in fact, were already headed in other directions when Chris unexpectedly got voted off the show. The phones started ringing. So now what? I think anyone would say that we would at least have to entertain the idea of Chris and Fuel. The websites have been flooded with support for the idea ever since he sang Hemorrhage from most of you. So that is what we are doing. We are entertaining the idea and the offer to Chris was that we would be willing to entertain him as an option. However, there is a lot to discuss and be decided. Is it right for us? Would it be the right thing for Chris? Would he even be able to get out of the contractual obligations to Am Idol? Would we be able to get things squared with Sony? So nothing is cut and dry, even if both camps thought it was right thing to do, it still might be impossible to work out all the details. Chris and I have discussed the possibility before and we are still entertaining the idea. Either way, never fear, we are coming with a great lead singer very soon who we are very excited about and rolling out a record this year.
