Oh, I had a super hard time understanding everyone when we first moved here........at times I was thinking " Hey, is there a closed captioning option?"[:D]

I like sweet tea, but not as sweet as some people.   Normally I ask if they can add a little unsweet tea because I don't want it to be so sweet.
I don't like soda, so I order tea or water when I'm out.  We have tea at home, but I don't make it often.  I just drink a lot of water.

I said "errrrr ... you might want to NOT **boil** those teabags -- might make it a bit bitter!!"

everybody knows that is why you add a pinch of soda when the northerners aint looking! [:D]

I am a tea glutton, and if I added 2 cups of sugar to my daily pitcher of tea I would be adding over 1500 extra calories a day to my diet!  Man...  that is shocking to think about that actually i would be as big as a house! [&o]  I would have to seriously break my "tea" addiction.

Amen.  The wife and I drink a pitcher of tea every day.  If we are farming, we might drink 2-3 pitchers.  If we drank it sweetened, I would have to get a higher HP tractor to haul my lard ass around.

I have also heard there is a ridiculous amount of sugar in soda.  If I drink soda, and I do, I always drink diet.

Regular soda is insane.  On average it has about 150 calories per can.  I ONLY drink diet and I drink about 5 of them a week.  Some of us (and I am including you in this Billy [;)]) don't have the figures we once had and can't take in that many calories a day without packing on the pounds.  For me, drinking regular soda is just a lot of wasted calories I would rather have in some really great tasting food.[8D]  Man I love to eat!

hey Bradley.. can you explain the "soda" addition thing to me.. I don't get it.  Are you saying you add baking soda to tea??

I used to only drink and make SUGAR tea (I'd use 5 of those 1/3 scoops - so what? almost 2cups per gallon?)....
then, DH came along and will  only drink UNsweet.  So I quit making tea altogether...too much trouble to make both.
We quit drinking Cokes and I decided to go back to making tea but I had to make Unsweet.... now I pour me a glass a put 2 Sweet&Low pkts in a glass... it's not nearly as good as my SUGAR tea used to be, but not nearly as fattening either....
I usually try to drink water.

I do love sweet tea, but now I try not to drink it as much because of the sugar issue.

My new favorite is sun tea, with a bit of sugar and mint!

Shelly, with GOOD reason, I am not nearly as concerned with my weight as you are but, I am wondering, if one is concerned about their weight, is there any reason you are aware of why one shouldn't even drink diet soda?

Yes, there are claims I have heard regarding weight and diet soda, and diet sodas in general aren't the best for you.  I will see if I can find some of the info I have seen online about this topic and then post it in a little while.  I will start a new thread about this topic in a bit so we don't go OT.[:)]

Oh.. and I seem to be missing an icon or two I would like to use for you right now for my "weight" slam in your last post!  [;)]

Iced tea (sun tea) wins hands down...sweetened with sugar of course.
Lately I am having to do mostly decaff with a bag or two of regular in there. I wasn't sleeping well and it was the caffeine. I drink coffee too so there ya go.

my grandmother always used to say "give 'em enough info to make them wonder, but not enough to know".
