In simplistic terms we all have free will. We can choose to disregard all the influences around us, we can make any decision or choice we want although there may be consequences. The exercising of will without regard to legality or consequences could be considered, illegal, immoral or insane by some groups.
Agreed. I can choose not to be confrontational in every confrontation, despite my upbringing. It is difficult, at times. Free will also allows personal responsibility. I can't keep blaming my problems on parents. If it's all my parent's fault, then I an still a child. Or, I am an adult man who chooses between right and wrong every day and am responsible for my choices.
