My Turn -- Car Shopping

I would have to own a car for 50 years to put 300,000 on it.. I only put an average of 5-6,000 miles a year on my car
Yikes!  And I thought I didn't get out much.

Hey SON, you might want to read what has already been posted before you post, lest you repeat what someone else has already said.  [;)]

I know.  I am horrible.  I tried to resist.  I really did.  Honest.  [:D]

I don't think that has anything to do with any short comings though..And besides, they don't make production cars with jet engines..

Let me remind you exactly whose wife was on the board publicly proclaiming whose shortcomings.  [:D]  You see SON, you better tread gently with me.  Just like Shelly is never going to live down the indisputable fact that she asked me for a nude picture, you will never live THAT down.  [:)]

Your consistent desire to bring up that joke (and we both know that WAS a slam on you I was making), shows me just how needy that you are.  For today, I am feeling kind, so I will let you have your “dream”… besides, further discussion might be too risqué for some….  [;)]

Yikes! And I thought I didn't get out much.

LMAO Kelly.. that was a good one!![:D]

I actually am fortunate enough to live only a mile away from work and I have 2 grocery stores, a mall, the dog park and a lake for taking the pups to for walks, all within 2 miles of home.. so we really only drive my car out of our "community" on weekends... thus the low mileage.  So I do sorta have a life...lol!!!

I am well aware of the story you told here about how you asked for that photo so you could practice your photo manipulation skills.  But, the fact of the matter is, if you were REALLY interested in a picture for manipulation, you could have asked for a picture of a flower, a picture of the Ode, or even a picture of the car we bought last night.  But you didn't do that.  You asked me for a nude picture of myself.  I am quite comfortable just letting the evidence speak for itself.

    Have a pleasant day.

we need NOT go through this all again and the fact that I was needing an area to "clone" to make bigger and getting skin coloring looking natural is a huge challenge, more so than matching color on a  flower on on your brown dog that you swear is actually black.. but again, feel free to think what you want  [;)]

[sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]SO congrats on the car, and what did you get MAC?[:)]

I am going to stay stick with GM. I am a little biased b/c my dad works for GM and I hate Mustangs. Also, I would stay away from the GTO just b/c that was the first year they were produced. It is a little older with decent milage but who knows what bugs were not worked out yet for that model year. So my vote is for the Monte Carlo. It is a used 2007, but am wondering if you get the special financing incentives that GM is offering right now? 4.9% or $1,000. Also, if it is certified used, GM now carries the 5yr 100,000 mile powertrain warrenty. Good deal if you ask me. And I think the Monte Carlo's look sharp, especially the SS's.

Thanks to all for your input.

Last night, we drove the 2007 Monte Carlo.  It died twice on the test drive.  It seemed like it was starved for fuel, although the dash said there was 90 miles to empty.  It died, both times, while accelerating on a curved entrance ramp to the freeway.  We took this as a bad omen.

The 2005 Mustang GT was actually a 2006.  Discovering that made the price a bit more reasonable, but didn't really make the car any more practical, so we decided on the 2004 Pontiac GTO.  I talked the guy down to $22,995.  We pick it up tonight.

As a funny sidebar, Joyce decided she really didn't want to hit the savings hard enough to pay for the car, so she would just pay $10,000 down and finance the rest.  We had never had the need to apply for joint credit before, but we did last night.  She really does have excellent credit but my credit score came back 7 points higher than hers.  I thought it was funny.  She didn't.

    Again, thanks to everyone.
