Should I be suspicious?

    Should I be suspicious?

I just looked at the cell phone bill for last month.  In addition to the three cell phones I know about on my account, I saw a charge for another phone.  I don't know how long ago it was added to the account, and the numbers that it calls are primarily Stella's cell and her work.  Normally I don't pay attention to the bills-they're on automatic pay.  I pay for my cell, DW's and MiL's cell as well.  I tried calling the "new line" but no one ever picked up.

Stella's not really answering my questions about this and MiL is no help either.  So does this sound fishy to anyone else?

Unless you have other reasons to suspect anything, I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and contact the cell phone company.  I hope you find it's just an error on their part.

It definately sounds fishy to me. I would definately contact the phone company.

Is DW being evasive or just doesn't know anymore than you?

I would call the new phone using Stellas phone. That way the number on the caller ID would be familiar,
I am the suspicious type.Been screwed over too many times!

switch phones with her for the day?

Do you have reason, other than the bill, to be suspicious of DW? Would she do something as obvious to you as add a cell phone line for someone without thinking that you would notice?

    Im not really sure...

As someone else asked, does she SEEM suspicious when you ask her? Or does she just not know anything about it?

I wouldn't be suspicious of DW - if she says she doesn't know, and you don't know, then someone's using your credit.  Call the phone company and get the line put on suspend.  They can suspend it for up to 90 days (most carriers) as a seasonal suspend.  Then when someone gets pissed - they will fess up.  If nobody fesses up, then shut off the line.

I do this ALL the time for my work, when I don't know who a line belongs to.  I suspend it and somebody inevitably whines/complains and then I find out.  If nobody complains, then they're not using it and BuhBye!

To be blunt, I've been getting the cold shoulder from her for a while.  She's not really being evasive but she's being very flippant about the whole thing.  If I could switch cell phones with her, I would, but she holds onto that thing like it's her life.  It kind of is-it's one of those cell phone PDA thingies.  I'm getting a suspicious feeling between the new cell phone and all the "shopping" trips to NYC.

I'm going to call Cingular in the morning and see about getting that phone off of my bill.  But what if it's something completely innocent?

If its something completely innocent, she would fess up, no?

Maybe she doesn't think you will think its completely innocent? Would she expect you to get mad over adding a line for a girl friend?

Are there any calls from Stellas phone to the new phone?
If it werent for the fact that the new phone has called her phone and her work number i would think it was maybe a mistake.

sounds she's onto something here... and I think Alison could be, too... any one of her friends having a tough time recently?  Perhaps a friend of hers you really don't like?  I think it's still sketchy to go behind your back, but it doesn't mean the absolute worst-case...

    REALLY GOOD POINT!

I would check that out Ed.[8|]

Ok, so my feeling is that this is probably nothing. You are probably concerned for no reason. Have you ever known Stella to lie to you about stuff? I have never heard you say anything like that before that you don#%92t believe her. SO is this a “new” feeling?

Can you also expand on the “cold shoulder” comment?  What do you mean by that exactly?

Does she ever take a shower??

I have to admit that I'd be having a tough time with that one too. I know that crummy feeling in the pit of your stomach when you just know something's not right.  I hope you get some answers soon.

I agree. If Ed is having to pay for the account and all the phones on it, he has a right to know who has that additional phone or to shut it off. I wonder how it got activated in the first place. And he should have been told when it was activated.
