The poll about the dead horse icon has closed - 100 members have voted over the past 3 days.

In light of the results, for those of you who voted against the icon (and we know who you are), please refrain from debating the ethics, use or misuse of this particular icon in the future.

I'm glad this has been resolved, but just to clarify - Are we allowed to MISUSE this icon?

If by "rub" you mean use it when appropriate, LOL, then yes. Otherwise, behave.

I'm glad this has been resolved, but just to clarify - Are we allowed to MISUSE this icon?

If misuse is using it when one feels appropriate, yes (because that would be misuse to those who don't like it). But it can't be used to communicate animal abuse or something else that would otherwise violate the forum rules.

Does that make sense?

To clarify, there were 100 votes and 326 members now do not have an opportunity to vote. Does your direction only apply to the 16 "no vote" members so that all others are free to debate, including the 326 that were forgotten and any other new member that joins or becomes re-activated?

Do you know for sure the identity of the 16 voters or are you assuming based on posts?

I also want to be cautious here but harping is not debating, do you agree?

The people who enjoy the horse will not debate it, well, because they don't care. When writing that, I meant for there to be no more griping, period, however, I will admit that I assume that those who don't like it would be the gripers. If someone has an issue with the icon in the future, I might entertain the notion of re-opening the poll, however, the members who voted are mostly the ones who are here on a daily basis.

I know the identity of all voters, pro and con.

On that note, let's let the dead horse lie.
