Backyard....UPDATED -- new pics p. 3

    Well,
She hasn't exactly paid for it yet...

I've put the receipts together, and made an itemized list of all the things on them, and put it in an envelope and put it in the "rent drawer" (in the table in the entryway).

It all totals $450, but thats not including the grass seed, spreader, fertilizer, gardening tools (rakes, shovels, etc.) and some plants... all that my parents bought and lost the receipts! (They are incredibly disorganized!).

But, I *hope* that she will follow through with her offer and cover the costs. I'll keep you updated...

I would be happy to let you know if she has anything available. I will probably be moving out of her in a year or two, maybe you can take over my apt! We live in a nice area of Brooklyn.

She isn't exactly dog friendly, but she does allow our dog because she wants nice people... Those are her words. She won't allow another dog, though. But, you never know! Maybe after the good experience with us she will change her tune!

Also, she says she doesn't allow cats, but every person that has lived here has had one, except me!

I love all the flowers! That's going to look so great when everything starts filling in.

I can't wait for it to fill in! I am like a little kid waiting for... christmas?? In a candy shop?? I don't know, I just can't wait.

Its going to be so gorgeous!

Still looks like a Gerbera to me (leaves and flower)...maybe the flower gets bigger as the plant does?

Pinching back is great, especially for the impatience.  Another one of my favorite plants, although those have to be replaced every year for the most part.  GA is funny, because sometimes things come back when they aren't supposed to.

It is to her benefit, and I think she probably realizes the amount of labor that she got for FREE.

Your landlord should talk to my landlord...

The yard looks beautiful!!!  Tyson only gets to admire from the window when he's in town, waiting for the grass to grow, doesn't he?  Aww!  Tell him if he wants a summer vacation in New England, to let me know... [:D]

    I'll relay the message, Paige!

Yes, he does only get to look from the window, but luckily (?) he will not be here until next weekend (not the coming one).

Oh its really starting to look great! Can't wait to see the end result. You will post pics once the grass has grown in and the flowers have filled out, right?!

Oh my!  That's amazing!!!!!!!  Will your parents come here & help me retrieve my gardens from the invading weeds?

I'm so excited and I've been checking here religiously to see the updates! I can't believe I missed them right when you posted them! Wahh!

I think things look sooo good. I'm so proud of that yard and of your family's labor. It's an amazing transformation. Yes, keep it all watered (heavy duty watered) and you won't regret it.

    Good good good for you!!

PS--I hope nobody from work reads this board (taking a gamble) but I played hookey (sort of, I did some work from home) the last 2 days to set up my deck, set up my new grill (!) and plant more flowers and perennials. It was so good. So good. I so wish I could do this day in and day out.

    Sigh.

Anyway, enjoy those dahlias. Currently the dahlias are my favorite flower and I am going to enter mine into the fair this year because I grow them well somehow. Yep, I'm that big a gardening nerd--entering flowers into fairs . . .

    So happy!
