"Appocoliptica" - It's the string quartet version of a collection of Metalica songs.

King Diamond - From my heavy-metal double bass drumming days of long ago.

"Monty Python Sings" - I'm sure this surprises noone here. [8D]

"Bugs Bunny on Broadway" & several other collections of cartoon songs and music.

I also have the entire collection of theme songs from the TV shows of the 60's, 70's, and 80's - Fun on road trips and you should have seen the look on the cop's face when I got pulled over once with "It's Howdy-Doody Time" playing! [:D]

"Live and Sleazy" by The Village People - To exercise to, when I get tired of AC/DC.

The soundtrack to "Pricilla, Queen of the Desert" - I think I must just be a gay man trapped in a woman's body. [;)]

I don't have guilt but am well aware that they are outside the mainstream.

    1. Weird Al's White and Nerdy. I so identify with that video...well except for the white part. I haven't even actually heard the song it is supposed to be parodying.

    2. My Humps - Black Eye Peas. I love that song.

That's about as black as I get...aside from me having picked up the phrase "You know how I do," from watching Girlfriends too much...

i liked the rentals for a short amount of time in the mid-90's. i still get a kick out of the "friends of p" song/video.

"if you're friends of p, then you're friends of me."... funny stuff.

i also like  matthew sweet. particularly the 100% fun and girlfriend albums.

and cypress hill's black sunday album.

You mentioning "Friends of P" made me think of the Safety Dance!

I love that song cause it's just SO stupid!

You can dance if you want to!  You can leave your friends behind!  But if they won't dance and if they don't dance then they're, no friends of mine!

You can dance...you can dance, everybody look at your pants *FOCLMAO*

and Beethoven's Synphony in A Major or the 1812 blasting. I got the weirdest looks

Two of my favorites.  I'm also a huge fan of Strauss, especially his Water Music.  And Bocelli.

I LOVE the soundtrack to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode.  I sing the entire thing in character, much to the chagrin of my boyfriend.

And I think that Mmmbop is a GREAT song.

I'm currently listening to John Prine.  Not really guilty, I guess, except that I'm pretty vocal about being anti-country music.  And I know that he isn't really country...more folk, I guess...but I have to turn it off before anyone comes home, or else they start calling me a cowgirl.

But come on, John Prine lyrics are always either hilarious and/or tragic!  I love, love, love him!

Here's the song that's playing right now:

We blew up the tv, threw away the paper
Went to the country, built us a home
Had a lotta children, fed them on peaches
They all found Jesus, on their own

Personally I don't see any of these groups/songs guilty worthy.  Well except maybe, Hansen. ~L~  Sorry.

I'll throw in Tom Jones.  ~LOL~

I love John Prine! And I love Spanish Pipe Dream, he does a wonderful tune with Bonnie Raitt called Angel From Montgomery that makes me cry...but if I had to name a guilty pleasure it would be.....ABBA and Cyndi Lauper

My husband enjoys the Austin Lounge Lizards. Trust me, this is a guilty pleasure!

I think it is a shame that there are thousands and thousands of songs and tunes out there that people never hear! I try to find new artists and tunes all the time. Has anyone heard of live365? This is a great way to discover new guilty pleasures!

Well, I guess now I've heard Riding Dirty. Frankly, I like White and Nerdy better. I just got a kick out of Donny Osmond dancing is butt off in the background, and  Seth Green spanking himself in front of the 'cherry' action figures.   The other  Weird Al song I like is  the Star Wars one - "My my, that there Anakin guy, maybe  Vader some day later, but now he's just a small fry..." .

But others speak of classical. I love classical. I love violin so I'd pretty much do anything for Paganini or Vivaldi. I love classical voice, especially counter tenor. There used to be an online radio station called Viva la Voce, and it was dedicated to classical voice in all its incarnations. It was glorious. I paid $5.00/month and lived on my ear buds at work in cubicle land. Unfortunately the terrestrial radio station it was tied to got sold and there went Viva la Voce.  I like other kinds of voice, but classical is the thing. Though "Oh Shenandoah" will near bring me to tears.

But my favorite voice of all time is Carmina Burana. It's a series of satirical and bawdy verse written by monks back in the 13th century. Mostly in latin, but some german I think. They are highly irreverant.  For example "Ergo Sum Abbas" is a song that translates sort of like:
I am the abbot of (such and such)
If you look for me, you will find me in the tavern (getting drunk)
If you bother me I'll kick you butt and turn you out in the streets naked.

A lot of people know the "O Fortuna" chorus from movies like "The Omen". If you don't know Carmina Burana, it's worth a listen. My copy is at work. It's Deutsche Gramafone, conducted by Jocum.

How could I have forgotton Vanessa Mae when speaking of violin? She is like a modern day Paganini. She plays a plugged in violin. It Is Awesome!
