I am a RABID Hanson fan, and I am not ashamed. [8D] BUT, most people don't realize that Hanson is STILL around- they're Indie now, have their own label, and they freaking rock. I admit that I loved them when I was in elementary school and they were brand new, but they've definitely moved past "Mmmbop" and broken free of that image. They have a surprisingly large fanbase, tour regularly, and are putting a new album out in a few weeks. \

In high school, I drove 2 hours to see a screening of their Live Acoustic recording. I'm going to see them ithe second they tour again in the south. I've already seen them live once.

So Hanson is an awesome band- but when I tell people, they don't realize that they're out there now making good music...they think I love "Mmmbop." They're not really mainstream anymore because they CHOSE to break free of that stupid popstar image that producers tried to force on them and instead went indie- they'd rather make less money and have the freedom to make good music than be on MTV constantly and put out crap. I respect that. [:)]

    And besides....Taylor is hot. [:D]

Other than Hanson, I have pretty weird/obscure tastes in music anyway. Favorite bands are Xiu Xiu, The Shins, Christian Death, Antony and the Johnsons...lots of weird stuff.

I can't see Classical music being a guilty pleasure...It is where a lot of rock spawned from.I love Classical piano,Violin and complete orchestra recordings.

Norm Macdonald: Kenny G has a Christmas album coming out this year.  Hey!  Happy birthday Jesus!  Hope you like crap!

    *ROFLMAO*

    My guilty pleasure?
I love Rockapella.  I'm not ashamed of it, but lots of people think a capella or barbershop music is sucky.  I love it.

I also love weird al, and technically, I'm White N Nerdy (the inner paley in me always loves a good listenin' to of "Gump")

There are probably a few.  I enjoy many kinds of music..but I hate head banging, hard rock...but I totally dig AC/DC.  What's up with that?

I love showtunes, especially old movie musicals or Broadway: "South Pacific" is one of my favorites, I think I like every song.

There's not many on here that I think are actual guilty pleasures! Anne, how is bluegrass a guilty pleasure??? That's talented music, right there! And it's roots music!

You will probably all find this a guilty pleasure, it's probably the most embarrassing that I listen to, but I don't really find it embarrassing:
I enjoy the John Denver and The Muppets Christmas album.
I also enjoy a song that the Inkspots did with Ella Fitzgerald called "Cow Cow Boogie". It's a HILARIOUS song about a swingin' cowboy. They call him a Swing Half-breed. D'OH. That's funny stuff.

I have Tiffany's "I think we are alone now" and Boy George's "Karma Camaleon" on my ipod [&:], i love those songs [:D]

I don't know any actual bands or singers that really stand out to me, but I have a few songs that I love to dance and sing along to at the top of my lungs.

Thank God I'm a Country Boy - John Denver

    Elvira - The Oakridge Boys

    Wasn't That a Party - Irish Rovers

    Girls - Beastie Boys

Gimme That Nutt - Easy E (sp?)

Brown Girl in the Ring - Boney M

    The Gambler - Kenny Rogers

Miss American Pie - Don Mclain

Although I challenge anyone to actually admit they don't like those last two and know at least a third of the lyrics if not all of them.

I also love Christmas music. I start playing it in October... hehe

My mother chose Vivaldi's Four Seasons as her birthing music for me, and my father insisted that I be born to the 1812 Overture (which I was), and these are my favorite instrumental pieces...I chose them before I knew the backstory!

As far as guilty pleasures...I like the soundtracks to all the Sister Act movies...I think it has a lot to do with being young and religious.
