medical info needed from SAW III movie

As a substitute elementary teacher (I work with kids from K-3) I have had kids in second and third grade tell me they've seen these movies and others like them.  I just cannot believe that parents will let their young children watch this type of horror.  I just don't get it.  These movies would give me nightmares (which is why I don't watch them).

Well MY kiddos ain't watching em LOL! I didn't even let Lily watch Narnia because of the intense stuff.

Now Lily HAS watched Animal Planet and has seen "gore" as far as lions taking down, and then eating a gazelle etc. To me this is fine because we discuss it...she has a supremely science aimed mind and asks why how where so often. I can see she is not afraid..but interested in why things like this happen...how the lions do it...where they live...etc etc. I know some parents would not allow thier kids to watch the nature stuff Lily does because then you have to have the "death" discussion...and that's fine. Everyone has to go with their comfort level as to when that all gets addressed.

We lost two pups this last time...Lily know we did...she knows why. She knows what a c section is...but she did not actually...visually SEE these things happen. She has no fear of things like this...but rather, curiosity. I foster that and make sure she maintains a respect for both life and death...as much as I can.
