An autoclave is steam/pressure sterilizer. Instruments are placed in packages and then in the chamber of the autoclave where they are sterilized by pressurized steam. Here's a few examples:

A 'real' piercer is a trained specialist, typically found in a tattoo/piercing shop. Now, around here those aren't found in the mall, but I hear that it's very different in the US. Also, a 'real' piercer will not use a gun. Piercing guns are brutal!! They jam blunt studs through your flesh. And, the CANNOT be sterilized!!! If you have any cartilage pierced by a gun, you risk having it shattered and ending up with lumpy cauliflower ear! Piercers use disposable single use sharps and receiving tubes and clamps which are cleaned and sterilized after each client. The pierce gently by hand rather than using a gun to jam your jewelry in.

The bruising isn't bad, but it takes a lot to make me bruise.

I've actually already cleaned them & it wasn't that bad. I expected much worse. I do have to be a little more careful with what I wear though. Since I'm at the beach, I went for a swim this morning, which would have been ok except that I swim in a 12 pound vest to help with my endurance. The vest was a bad idea. About a mile into my swim, I had to come to shore & remove the vest because there was some serious chafing going on.[:'(]

Anybody in WI wanna come to a shop with me and get it done? I was alone the first time, and absolutely terrified, which is probably why it hurt so much, lol. I think all my male friends would have a meltdown if I asked them to go with me to get my nipples pierced *ROFL*

i would say that placing a tight clamp and sticking a hollow needle through a very sensitive body part certainly qualifies as "a lot"...

Apparently we are not the only ones in love with them!! I had to come inside, (I was sitting out on the porch listening to the waves hit the shore) I think the neighbors were loving them as well! The old man across the street was looking over here with binoculars[:'(] I guess if I want to sit outside, I need to put a top on!!![

There is only one house close to mine. There were no lights on & no vehicle in the driveway, & I know that the owners of this particular house visit very seldom. I didn't think that anyone was home & the dirty old man caught me off guard! NO JOY in his life tonight!!

DH always gives me crap when I am running around the house in bra a panties (our front sliding door onto our patio has no blinds and out condo is on a hill and sits higher than the condos below us but it still isn't easy to see in). SO he always says "GAWD... I wish you were my neigbor when I was an 13 year old boy". I alwasy say "if they wanna work THAT hard to see me... then they deserve it!"[

I was just about to ask that. He doesn't, per say, want to touch so much as nibble. How long before that can happen? I don't want them infected. (I can exercise some self control if I have to.)
