Need breakfast ideas

Chips and salsa (dont tell me that because its crappy you wont consider that option like in the "cheap dinner ideas" thread when i posted almost the same)

I love chips and salsa.. and have them about 4 times a week as an afternoon snack.. although  the handful of times I have brought them in my lunch,  I end up eating them for breakfast![:)] I am loving a mango/ peach salsa I have at home right now that I made for fish this week.

Gosh, I don't think 500 cals for breakfast is too bad if it's high protein as well.
Fortunately I am home for breakfast and at work for dinner.  If I dont eat cereal I will have turkey bacon and eggs and a piece of toast.
I often have a lowfat english muffin with a fried egg and lowfat cheese.  Thats what..300 calories?  I dont fry the egg in oil just pam.  I used to eat fruit smoothie's sometimes but it just wasnt as satisfying as the higher protein breakfast and found myself snacking more often.  I still try and eat more fruit but more of a snack vs meal.

I'm all about convenience and low cal.  Here are my regular faves

I love hard boiled eggs, but I have to have 2.  That's only about 200 calories though, and very satisfying.

I eat light yogurt more than anything else.  Yoplait has a new version called "Thick & Creamy" and it's the consistency of pudding or custard.  Yummy.

    I like bananas for breakfast.

I always keep raw, unsalted nuts at my desk, but I have to be careful to only eat a small handful.

I always keep some packets of instant oatmeal here for days when I want something warm.

I used to love low fat cottage cheese with fruit too.

If I had my choice of anything though, it's be a breakfast burrito.  Aldaberto's has some great breakfast burritos [:D]

A breakfast burrito made at home doens't have that much fat. 1 egg--but eggs are good fat and lots of protien. Canned black beans--no fat there. Salsa--no fat. A few shreds of cheese for taste? Not too much fat. The bacon is up to you. Since we don't eat real bacon, it's actually fairly low fat there as well. I highly recomend Morningstar Farms Breakfast Strips.

My standard breakfast (before PG) was a cup of fruit and trail mix every morning, I would put it in a baggie and eat it in the car along with my cuppa coffee.  CostCo sells their Kirkland brand of this which is awesome.  It's really great and quite filling.  If I needed anything extra I might add a banana to it.  It really helped me lose weight when I quit my morning bagel & cream cheese routine and substituted the trail mix.  Plus I stayed full longer - til lunchtime, on just a cup!

I make PB&J "tacos" lol - just warm up a totilla, spread with PB&J and enjoy!

I'm a big fan of granola and yogurt mixed together, cereal or granola bars, and hard boiled eggs for breakfast. My default breakfast is cereal and a glass of pineapple OJ currently, but I went through a toasted bagel w/ margarine phase a while back and occasionally I just have homemade sourdough toast with butter and jam.

A fruit smoothie with a scoop of protein powder lasts me a while, sometimes. I started making myself eat breakfast, and now I'm a breakfast feind. I need it. I have to have it[;)] I like Luna bars, a lot, and they tend to keep me pretty full, if I have one AFTER breakfast, or eat 2 of them.

LOL, nothing lasts me more than 3 hours. I like to eat.

Here are some of my suggestions:

I have recently been enjoying a toasted English Muffin with peanut butter and jelly, or a blast from my past, peanut butter and fluff!

A fruit salad would be a nice thing to prepare and be able to enjoy it for a few days.

Special K peaches and berries breakfast bars are a favorite of mine, as is special K cereal.

I know you're not a fan of cereal, but cheerios and blueberries are super delicious, and good for your heart!

I, too, make fruit smoothies for breakfast in the wamer months (I usually mix frozen peaches, frozen strawberries, fresh mango, fresh banana, ice, and orange juice... you can add yogurt, too, but I prefer not to!)

Also, another suggestion for the bagels is to use a nice fruit preserve (my favorite is raspberry) instead of cream cheese for moistness...

I'm a huge pastry & bagel fan too.  Trade your bagel for an english muffin and you'll save sooo many calories.

I love breakfast burritos too.  I'm not sure how they'd reheat but if you dont mind them cold I've made them with chopped hardboiled egg, cooked&fridged turkey bacon, and lowfat cheese.  mmm

WOW everyone.. there are some fantastic suggestions here.. some things I have never even thought of.. So thanks you SO MUCH![:)]

Cressida.. I could KISS YOU for the morning star farms rec... I completly forgot that I love their "veggie sausage patties" and i use to make them with eggs in the moring and put into corn tortillas for breakfast tacos...   I am totally gonna try that for next week.  [:D]

Wow, I didn't realize that so many people ate "good stuff" for breakfast.  I'm going to have to stray from my apple & protien shake breakfast, and try some of these other suggestions.  I really really want breakfast burritos!

Swedish pancakes or crepes, you can make in advance, thaw the night before and then you can add anything, like fruit and eggs or meat. My favortie filling is light cream cheese mixed with cottage cheese, a little cinnamon and sugar, these are commonly called blintz. You can also eat with a bit of syrup.

These recipes have the least amount of fat, sugar and carbs.

I make a double batch, cook them all and then freeze in bundles of 6(there are 2 of us), and I use PAM to coat the pan over butter to keep the fat content down.

And thanks for the congrats... My scale broke[&o] (fell off a shelf in a cupboard a few months ago) so I have no idea how much weight I have lost, but was happy to find that when I went jean shopping this past weekend I was down 2 sizes from when I got JJ a little less than 11 months ago. The twice a day walks have had awesome results and I haven't done anything else really different, nor have I sacrificed a thing. I figure this "breakfast change" plus the fact that we moved the stairclimber downstairs a few weeks ago and are now using it 4-5 times a week (instead of a couple times a month..lol...) should help me go down 1 more size within 6 months or so and then I will have reached my goal. [:)]

There are some awesome suggestions here everyone, so thank you SO MUCH![8D]

I just got back from a  trip to our local healthfood market and I got 2 different types of lowfat yogurt, 4 different flavors of lowfat granola, more frozen fruit and a bunch of fresh fruit and some morning star veggie sausages. this will get me my "start".. oh.. and based on some of your suggestions folks I noticed the smaller sized bagels AND a lowfat garlic cheese spread that I can use instead of cream cheese.. so I will probably try that next week![:D]
