Okay, so this thread has devolved completely but I can't help but throw in my $.02. I hate working with other women as well.

I know it's a tall order, but I would love any guesses about why women are so mean to one another. Men fight, but not for keeps the way women do. And men just say what they want and you give it to them and it's done. I find that I get in all kinds of trouble for not being a mindreader when I work with women.

(FWIW, I work pretty much exclusively with men right now, and they have their own weirdnesses... don't get me wrong. In a perfect world, nobody would be comfortable enough with their gender to act like either a man or a woman, and we would all just act like humans.)

as for your request for "guesses" as to why women act the way they do I have a few actually that are in an email I can send you.. I would rather send it to you that way than perhaps post "as is" since i am pretty darn sure it will be heavily ***content edited***[]

I would say the Green Eyed Monster -- or they're just EVIL!  I personally don't like confrontations, gossip or drama and some women (and men too) LIVE for it.  Guess it depends.

Hmmm...I don't know. I like to think about human behavior as relates to the natural world. Perhaps it's pack dynamics? If people evolved with a pack system then it'd make sense...only one female gets to breed so she should be the best representative of a human female available? So there's a motive for competition.

Bingo... I think this has a LOT to do with it Gina... Subconsciously women compete with one another for “males”… just my opininion though...[8|]

I have to say I much prefer working with men so surgery is the best field for me. Men are way easier to manipulate ha ha ha!!! We were actually discussing this recently in a meeting, there is a huge difference between how the nurses treat the male residents and female residents. Most of the nurses at my hospital are women (about 90%) and the older ones are downright nasty to female residents but treat the men like gold. It's really strange actually. The younger ones are pretty fair to both sexes. Maybe it is a little of the green eyed monster since many of the older nurses didn't have the same opportunity to go to medical school as it used to be VERY biased against women 20 years ago (my mom was the only woman in her medical school class and my class was over 50% women), but they see how tortured residents are and how nice their job is, I can't imagine they would be too jealous

Edit: If you saw the way I looked post call yesterday you probably wouldn't be worried about my competing with you for mates ha ha ha.

get this I used to know a gal...worked with her...that'd flirt with guys that were with other girls/married whatever. Nothing ever came of it...like affairs that I know of...but she told me once when we were in a club..."it's empowering to know that even tho that guy is commited I could have him...and she'd never know"...WTH???
