She is beautiful! It's great that they are getting along so well.

I'm glad you were able to find out some of her past. If I had one wish, it would be to find out where Odin came from. He's such a great little guy and I can't imagine someone not wanting him (he came in as a stray). But now at least you know what happened to your girl in the past!

I know...thats the same with Prince, he was also found as a stray. And it was his day to die when the rescue group ;pulled him from the shelter. I'm so glad they did!

Doh! She has natural ears. I kept looking at her thinking "she doesn't look like Prince", but I couldn't figure out why. Now I feel silly. I like her ears too. I've never seen a dobie with natural ears.

OMG I'm so upset I didn't see this sooner!!  I was off dog.com the weekend you got her, so this got buried in all the new stuff since then.

I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!  She's beautiful!!  You have exactly the situation I want - another young healthy Dobe, this time blue.  I want! I want! I want!  HOW AWESOME for you!  I've been squirming around in my chair all excited for you guys!!  I like her name, too!

The original link is gone (ie, she's off petfinder) so I don't know her history more than you've written here.  But it is nice to know where she came from.  SO HAPPY for you guys!!!  Please give Prince a big smooch from Auntie Paige for being such a good boy to his new roommate, and some extra cookies and love to the new girl, Macy!

Thanks, miranadobe! I'm not sure how 'healthy' she is. Sometimes I think her hips are out of whack with the way she sits and she slouches quite a bit. But the poor posture could be due to confidence issues too. This will be her 3rd home, 4th-5th living situation and she just turned 2! Poor thing. After talking to her 2nd owners who took really good care of her, it sounded like the lady wanted her back. But I don't think I could do that to this girl. She is starting to trust us and adjust really well. And what's to say they wouldn't give her up again? All b/c the wife was going back to work and Macy barked alot and the husband didn't like that since they lived in a sub. Macy barked alot when we first got her at every little thing. But only after a few times of telling her to "hush" and then squirts with a spray bottle if she didn't she hardly barks at all! Maybe a couple of times but after we say "hush" not another peep. I just don't get it. The lady was practically crying on the phone with me saying she would reimburse for food or what-not. Ugh. Also trying to play the kid card. Then why give her up in the first place???? And back to the same people who treated her like crap as a puppy....[:@

I'd be sketched out by that, too... If the rescue had that previous owner's contact information and gave it to you, it seems to me they made a similar judgement call not to return the dog to that woman, either.

As for her hip/posture... what did your vet say?  When you say she slouches - is that sitting or standing?  How does she move when she walking versus running versus trotting?  Do you see her leg swing out, or peg-leg at all?  You mentioned when you first got her she would just RUN RUN RUN (typical Dobe [:D])  Do you think she could have just strained something?  I wonder how often she'd been getting long running breaks in the weeks/months before you got her.
Keep us posted.  I'm still waiting to hear back on the blue coat treatments and will let you know.
