How many pets...

    How many pets...

...do you have?  I have a tiny zoo!  I would love to keep Rose's babies, but I have a perfect set up with them.  They stay at my mentor's, I go play with them every day and can take them home for visits any time I like.  Plus, I don't have to pay their food or vet bills!  No more room for little dogs here.  I now have 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, 4 sugar gliders, 1 chinchilla, 2 snakes, 2 firebelly toads and 2 fish tanks.  But, I don't really count the snakes, toads or aquariums because they are really more "display" type pets.  They don't crave attention and I mostly just enjoy looking at them!  Sometimes I wish I was a normal college student with no responsibilities other than school or work, but then I remember all of the joy that my pets bring me!  Having them around relieves a lot of stress and since I have lived off campus and been able to have animals, my stress levels have definitely gone down.  The only bad part is I'm probably going to be gone over night for a dog show and my gliders HAVE to be given fresh food each day.  I think I'm going to get them travel cages and take them with me.  It will be much easier than having someone watch them.  The rabbits and chinchilla will be fine for a day and half.  And of course, the dogs will be with me, or possibly at my mentor's depending on how many I'm showing.

Right now I hav 1 dog, 2 cats, and the 2 evil chinchillas[sm=devil.gif]. I still would like to add to my zoo another dog and a black velvet chinchilla, but that is not allowed right now.

Currently, I have 16 that I count.  6 dogs (although 1 is a foster), 6 cats, & 4 horses.  I also have a salt water aquarium but it only has a nurse shark in it right now & after calving season ends, I should have close to 500 head of cattle.
(I don't count the shark or the cows because they aren;t really pets.  The shark is for looking at, and the cattle are sold as show calves & some for slaughter)

Willow, parakeet that is nine-years-old, Snowie and one rescued Cockatiel named Birdie.
I did another round of fish after the ones I had for a couple of years died and they didn't make it so no more fish for me.  I'm going to add some more plants.

4 dogs and a ball python named Mickey.

At one point in college, we had 3 ball pythons, a white-lipped python, a king snake, poison dart frogs, a lizard that I can't remember what kind it was and probably something else!  lol...

I have Maggie my dog,  Ronnie and Skyler my rabbits, and Tori the tortoise that I've had for almost 8 years.  I need to add her to my sig, she is feeling left out, and she is really pretty.
    I also have some fish.
I want a pair of mice, a chinchilla and another dog, a few more rabbits would be nice too, oh, and a cat. Also I would like a breeding group of a rarer type of tortoise. Now, if I can only make enough money to be able to afford them all...

I have one dog, one hamster, one corn snake, and two guinea pigs.  I have just about the perfect balance of pets for now.  Once the hamster moves on (he's already 1.5 years old) he won't be replaced.  I've had many more pets at once, but it's  so hard for me to travel anywhere.  Since it's just me, it can be difficult to find a reliable sitter when I'm gone.

There's a little over lap in my house between family pets and my own pets, but counting them all we've got, besides the two hounds, three cats, three rats, and a bunny.  One of the dogs and the rats are all mine [:)]

    At my house:

-1 dog (3 if you count the two that are my roommates')
    -3 rats
    -1 lizard

    At my office:

    -1 snake

    At my dad's house:
    -2 dogs
    -2 birds
    -1 fishtank

All except for one of the dogs in that situation is because of me.  The one bird was a 16th birthday present from my mom, and the other was obtained to keep him company.

I've worked at PetSmart off and on for almost five years, and there was so often the situation of, "But the baby fish will be eaten!  We need to save them!" (Code: I want a fish tank.)  "There are a bunch of puppies that need homes because they were on an abandoned farm!" (Code: Dad, you really need to start moving.  Get a dog so you'll start going to the park again.)

The lizard was also a 16th birthday present (from my dad), and the rats were obtained to feed to an old snake I had, but my roommates in college didn't want me to feed them to her, so they "saved" the rats.  And then didn't take care of them.  Of course this means I ended up with them.

Oh, and the snake.  In retrospect probably the worst idea ever.  Don't get me wrong, I adore her and she's amazingly awesome.  However, I got her at a herp show with my ex-boyfriend.  He got a male western hognose and told me I should get a female.  They would be symbollic of us.

Needless to say, I couldn't bring myself to touch her for the 6 months following that breakup.
