    Whoa big news for me!

    I'm pregnant!  [:-][:-][:-][:-][:-]

We were just married 5 months ago and weren't planning on this right away...plus I had no idea it would be this easy (due to some past medical history).  I'm 32, Ron is 42 (he has a daughter from a previous marriage).

I started feeling a little weird last week and took a pregnancy test, which came out negative.  Then we went skiing on Saturday and I fell a ton of times, not to mention I had a few beers after.  If conception occurred when I think it did (Dec. 31) I've had a few drinks since then but nothing to excess.  Even so I'm not happy about all the caffeine and diet drinks I've had!

Anyway, I still felt odd a week later (clothes snug, huge boobs, fantastic fingernails, clear skin, very tired, food-insatiable) so I took the second pregnancy test in the box and it came out positive!!  I told Ron this morning and we're both a little freaked but in a good way.  He is a "fertile Myrtle" so to speak...just one "slip" in the past few months I guess was enough!

Anyway I am happy and excited and have a ton of questions of course.  I called my doctor and they will see me on Jan 31st...Ron and I have decided not to tell anyone until after I see the doctor and we determine that everything is OK.

So I have a brazilian bikini wax scheduled for this evening...is it still safe to do that?

I also am a runner but due to the cold weather I haven't run in several weeks...I suppose I should stick with my cross trainer (elliptical machine) ?

Thanks for giving me a chance to share this with you, I'm kind of in a daze right now! :)

keep exercising as you would unless the doc says not to or you have a difficult pregnancy.  It will only help you with the excess eating you will do and also to keep your baby healthy and not be too big at birth.  :D

Congratulations!  My sisters want kids, but not me.  And yes, one slip is enough if both of you are fertile.  :D

Huge congratulations Gina.  If that last ski trip didn't cause any harm, then I don't you need to be worried about running or other cardio[;)].  I'm very excited for you and your husband.  It does seem that there have been a lot of pregnancies over the last several months.  Obviously not everyone is spending toooo much time on the computer [:D]

Getting pregnant can happen in a bat of an eyelash, and still enough time to be on the computer.....[:D]

    Good luck with everything.

Congratulations!!  That is so exciting.  My fiance and I have been together for seven years this year and we're getting married in July...so I'm hoping SO is ready for kids.  We've talked about it a bit, but I think he wants to wait a bit...I think we've waited long enough.  [:D]

Breastfeeding.com is a good forum if you plan to nurse.

My Dr said my ellyptical was fine to use as long as I was used to it, and I didn't intensify the workout.

    I liked Babycenter.com
Has a lot of neat tools, due date calculator, pregnancy calender based on your conception or due date, and if you sign up, they'll keep sending you weekly e-mails as your baby grows. I find that I read them less for my second kid, but every now and then a new piece of news or research, esp. about health issues, will pop up and it's still informative.
