Ugly Dog

• Terri Posted : 7/27/2006 3:25:09 PM ORIGINAL: whinny__g Whinny actually is ugly to many people, and once i had a complete stranger say to me, "that sure is an ugly dog" which is fine, i can see how people might think she is ugly . i thought it was weird that he said it outloud though!   She is not! What did you say to that? I tend to have a nasty temper, and I probably would've made a pretty mean comment about how he looked.   I guess it's hard for some people to understand, but my dogs are my babies. When we're out and someone makes a comment about my dog, they are making a comment about me. And I get defensive! • pumaward Posted : 7/27/2006 7:22:55 PM I couldn't possibly dream of telling someone that something they loved was ugly... honestly, I just think it's cruel and nasty to do so... what do you have to gain out of it? Hurting someone?   I do not care for the way some breeds look or specific dogs for that matter. I don't really feel the need to voice my feelings or opinions about it.   For the ugly dog contest... I feel bad for those dogs. • ron2 Posted : 7/27/2006 7:41:10 PM It is somewhat of a wonder that mothers can look at them long enough to nurse them   I wanted to ask if you were speaking from experience but it's hard to get the timing and inflection right in a post so that we could both share a giggle. • Stephanie Book Posted : 7/27/2006 11:56:12 PM I was also going to comment that practically all of the "Ugly Dogs" are the Chinese Crested hairless ones. And I really have to agree with that, because, even when that breed is a show quality, or a puppy,  I think they are one of the ugilest breeds of dogs. Actually, quite a long while back, I was looking through one of my  dog breed books, and we would look at the pictures and decide which dogs were "Oogli-Fruits", which is what we called the 'ugly' dogs. How wierd is that?[:-] lol And I had a dog as a kid I got from the animal shelter, a Pit mix, and I thought she was cute, so when a guy said that she wasn't , that she was pretty ugly, I said "Well, she's cuter than YOU!"  Can you believe that!
