It's that time again.....

    It's that time again.....

My website is up and awaiting donations for the 2007 MS Walk!  This year my goal is $2000 and as always, if you don't want to pledge on line, just PM me for my mailing addy.  Again, all checks need to be made out to the National MS Society (unless you want to buy me new shoes for the walk [:D])

    And the website is.....

I'd appreciate everyone's input on the design....they let us walkers do a whole lot more designing this year.....

I've got the page saved in favorites. All I have to do is get employed, again.

Did you check out the page, Ron?  I can't figure out how to make it change my goal to what it actually is, so will have to let THEM do that.......I'm anxious for everyones input!
    • Gold Top Dog
I like the new look of the page. You can navigate from you to Soft Rockers to ole TM. The thermometers look neat. But I did notice at the top of one it showed your goal of $2k but $500 at the bottom of it. So, yeah, they need to reconcile that so that people know what your actual donation goal is.

I'm in again ... but you probably already knew that!!  We'll get our income tax return back in Feb. and I'll e-mail you for your mailing addy.[:D]

I'll be in again as soon as I get paid, especially since I meant to give some more last year right before the walk while you were making your final pleas, but I didn't get paid in time to do it.

I'll be in again too once Christmas is over.  I have overextended myself this month!

The other thing that was confusing to me is there are 2 goal meters.  One says Glenda Lee and the other says my personal goal $2000.  Why are there 2?
    • Gold Top Dog
Those goal meters are wierd and I'm not sure why there are two...maybe one is supposed to be for the team goal?  But, I also can't figure out how to make the goals both say the same thing.  It's redesigned this year so not quite as simple to navigate just because its different.  But the new design does let you do more and say more and be more personal......

This is NOT the best time of year to start fundraising, but it's up just in case someone wants to get a tax deduction before the year ends, hits the lotto and feels generous......or gee, for that someone on your Christmas list who has everything and needs nothing, well gosh, a gift in their name to the National MS Society might be the perfect thing!

We've got six months before the walk, but I've also got a big goal and I intend to hit it.  Todd's station also has the walk again....last year it stayed with the old station and they did nothing at all with it, didn't even promote the walk, so we've got it back again as their media partner and I have big plans for the stations involvement this year as well.

Yep, I'll donate also!  Come Jan/Feb I'll donate what I can.

It's so true, right now is just not a good time, so glad I still have a few more month to get it in.  I bookmarked the page and put it on my reminder calendar[;)]

Well folks, Christmas is over, so it's time for me to start nagging...errr, reminding everyone that it's time to start thinking about donations!

Six months and counting down to the goal!

A BIG thank you and lots of hugs to Joyce for her generous donation.  [:)]

I have a very long way to go to reach my goal of $2000.  You guys got me to my goal last year, and I'm hoping you'll reach into your hearts, and your pockets, again this year.  Give what you can give, if you will, and help those who suffer with this dreadful condition to have hope.

My Sis was diagnosed in 2001.  We know that she's had the condition for at least 10 years prior to that.  DH's bosses wife was diagnosed in 1984.  In the past year she's gone from being able to do anything to being confined to a wheelchair and unable to stand on her own.  Charlie pays $500 per week for day care, a private duty nurse to be with her while he is at work.  He's considering assisted living for her now because the lifting is getting to be too much for him.  He's not a young man anymore.

The National MS Society is sooooo very close to a cure.  They've found a number of drugs that HELP, even though they are meant for other purposes.  Baby steps, but steps none the less, towards a cure.

If you can help, please help.  No amount is too little.  It all adds up to a cure.....and help for those who suffer now.  You can pledge online or email me for my mailing addy and send a check made out to the National MS Society.

If I've helped you, if I've backed you up, sent you "the recipe", said something that made you smile or heck, even something that pi$$ed you off but made you THINK, well, now it's your turn to help ME to help others.

Please and thank you all in advance!

    Let's go i-doggers! Let's burst that thermometer. [sm=wink2.gif]

i will try to donate what i can, but will also refer my mom to the site, she always donates to good causes. my aunt always participates in the walk in lansing too.
    • Gold Top Dog
Thanks to everyone.  Jan and Amanda, thank you for your pledges.

Gaylemarie?  Does your Aunt have a friend or family member who is afflicted?  It's so scarey how MANY people have MS....over 16,000 in MI alone.  My sister continues to live her life as always, running marathons, using her rowing machine for hours on end, she wears me out THINKING about all the stuff she does.  And then I look at Charlies wife and it really scares me to think what the future might hold for my sister.

They promise that a cure is "within our lifetime".....and again, I'm getting old and want to see it in MY lifetime.  Not just for my sister, but for all the thousands of folks who would so love to have their lives back.

ya know, im really not sure if she knows anyone with ms, i will have to ask her. she has a good heart though, and she is a runner, so she goes out for every run or walk that they have down there. i was not aware that it was such an epidemic, and at those numbers i would definitly call it just that. people like you are helping make others aware and fighting for a cure, and that is so wonerful, i will definitly spread the word to all my friends and family, the more people that know and donate, the faster that cure will become available for your sister and all of the deserving people out there that should not suffer.
