Hrmm, cough coughm DICTATOR cough hrrmm.

Funny you mention dictator.  If you google "Bush and Hitler"  you will be amazed at the amount of people who feel that he is repeating history, the amount of atricles on the subject, the amount of similarities between the two.   I found it interesting.

lol, some of their actions and attitudes are rather similar, except hitler was quite intelligent, he just had some major mental problems. at least he could spell and enunciate anyway, bush is a bumbling idiot.

Ok, my question is, how could a 'stupid bumbling idiot' get elected instead of the people in the other party... twice. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Or maybe he was just the lesser of two evils.

And anyways, what is wrong with tourture?

Now I would love to get into a political debate with you but... never mind, I had to listen to politics all last week, I am tiring of it. I'm sure my brother would though.  And calling people names, especially you president, is not a political argument, it is more of a mud slinging competition. [:'(]

Bumbling idiots get elected because the average voter (John Q. Public) is often not the brightes tool in the shed when it comes to issues - he sees what he wants to see and hears what he wants to hear, lets himself get suckered in by glib tongues and frequently doesn't even bother to vote. I don't know how you can even ask a question like "What is wrong with torture?" It's against the Geneva Convention, which was put in place for ALL CIVILIZED countries to abide by.  Bush CANNOT be allowed to change that to serve his own warped purposes.

See, the problem I have with the whole 'no tourture' thing is "We can't tourture them but we can KILL them, WTH?"

Or what if before 9-11 someone had the info that could stop it, but the only way you could get it was to tourture them. Would you let 9-11 happen for the comfort of one terrorist?  I think we should keep the option open, though it shouldn't be the precedent.

Well, because they would not approve a recount, thats why.  BOTH times there has been much debate over whether he actually won.  When they demand a recount, its denied by the House which is full of, gasp, republicans who dont WANT anyone else to win.

All I know is, their time is coming to and end, and it cant come soon enough.  I feel sorry for the next president who will have quite a mess to clean up.

Killing is much more humane than torure isint it!  Torturing someone for info is NOT what America was about.  But thats all gone far far away now isint it. Oh, what was I thinking.[:)]

Amy is right -- the Republicans' time is drawing to a close!  All the Dems need to do is retake either the House or the Senate, with the House being theirs right now, according to  variety of polls.  The Senate will be harder to take, since they must win five seats.  Still, it's definitely possible.

because from the way i understand it, your vote does not really count. your vote is meant only to influence your states representative and the representatives is the one whose vote means anything, if your reps. are republicans they will probably vote republican even if you voted democrat....is this really how it works though? i honestly don't know, but this is pretty much the way i have always understood it to be.

but to point blank answer your question, because enough of america's voting population are also bumbling idiots.

also, alot of people didnt want to vote for the other idiot because he said he was going to mess with north korea, and we knew then that that was a bad idea....im so glad bush won because he wouldnt dream of messing with korea....
    • Gold Top Dog
I agree that messing with Korea is not a good idea, but I definitely don't think that messing with Iraq was the appropriate course of action either. But that seems to have been the "bumbling idiot's" plan all along.

How he was "elected" is a good question. And why it happened twice is just a mystery. I think our voting system is pretty messed up. The electoral college may have worked before, but it is outdated and needs to be replaced.
    • Gold Top Dog
No, tortouring people isn't what America is about, but neither is thousands of inocent people getting killed becausewe wouldn't hurt anyone. And neither are a bazzilion things that the dems support. Gun control? If we took the second admendment as literally as the first then normal citizens would have nukes. Not a bad idea...[;)]

I know MY vote doesn't count. I'm underage. XD

Duh, people called for a recount on both ellections. I think that almost every single ellection *someone* will call for a recount.

We righties may be bumbling idiots, but look at the other side! Well... never mind, I wont change y'alls mind and we'll just get in a big argument. I'm not sure if I would be able to discuss this without alienating you, so I'll wait until we know eachother a bit better [;)]

It was explained to us how he won with a cute little animation of someone trying to vote for Kerry electronically, and the button running away from his mouse pointer and eventually the Kerry button turned into a Bush button just when the guy was madly clicking on it trying to make it work.
