I am giving some thought to marrying into your in-laws, so I can really do it up right.  [:)]

I think the depression issue was the reason I always cut Joel more slack that I might otherwise have.  I don't know anything first hand about depression but I always thought it could cause people to behave in ways not the norm for them - and I always thought there was a possibility that a lot of the meds could do the same thing. Some of them are pretty powerful.  That said ... I still think he was pretty funny ... but then I don't irritate that easily.   Let me rephrase that.  I don't GET irritated that easily. [:)]

I wasnt here for joel, but I have read through alot of his posts, and he was funny in not so funny sort of way. What I mean is that I found him hilarious, but I can see how some people were offended by him.

I try not to 'take things to the head' so I really found the humor in some of his posts.

Keep in mind, that all of the really bad stuff has been deleted.  You cannot get the full picture that is Joel without including the words, comments and phrases that got him kicked out.

Thanks for noticing Ron. He's so mean to me.

The first time I read one of his slams on you, I was about to reply and unload on him. Fortunately, I read the whole thread, first, and realized that he was goofing on you the way we do at work.

    For example, a co-worker, we'll call J.

    me:
    "J. I've missed you."

    J:
    "Yeah?"

    me:
"Yeah. Like a boil on  my butt."

    J:
    "(curseword) you."

    Ah. good times.

Yes, I remember Joel, and I am glad he is gone. His posts annoyed me so much that I quit reading or posting on i-dog for several months. I was very happy that the new forum included an block feature.

I was just reading this thread and thought you guys would enjoy laughing at the stupid person that thought Joel was THE Joel from dog.com.  I didn't read all that many threads that he was on, but started reading the one about the roach when he was writing it,,thought he was funny. But that was when he was stepping on a lot of peoples toes and getting into trouble,,,and I honestly didn't realize that he was not the moderator.   I know,,pretty dumb,,,huh????

Honest,,,when I picked up on the conversation about Ernie,,, Jamie was trying to tell him to "knock it off" so  I thought the whole thing was a joke,,,then I read on and on................

    Oh my goodness!!!
Whole pages with Joels name all over them he must be in heaven...quick Billy send him the link so he can read them!!!

Yes, I remember Joel, Ashley(who you've all left out), Christine, Brenda and Besty. These were all people who really did contribute to the forum and could make you  laugh and think for sure. Unfortunately none of them would heed any warning and a few of them had more then nine lives and three strikes...for the record!

For those of you who have been around even longer then me you know I am very open minded and do allow for a good long debate, Betsy would drive me to drink some days and yeah, she was GOOD!

I miss them all and wish things could have been different but the facts are what they are. I hope they are all well and healthy and enjoying life.

I will also put to rest one other opinion expressed in the pages before my post, were there "I hate so and so" e-mails? You're darned right there were but as the truth will be told I don't fold to another's opinion, I form my own. I let those with the rope hang themselves so there is no question why they are gone. You've all answered the same thing in this thread, you all know why these people are gone and it has nothing to do with who has PM'd me or formed a "gang" against the poster or poser [:D]

I've also been a target of the "Hate" group mail and I'm sure I will again one day, no biggie. I believe I do my best to be fair to everyone here and hope that you all realize I respect and care about all of you here. This is a fabulous forum with a vast resource of dog knowledge.

I think the VERY best "I hate Jaime" email was one that I got and can't share for fear of getting forever BANNED over the contents!  After I picked my chin up off the danged floor I forwarded it to her and we got a wonderful laugh over the sexual allegations in that one.  It wasn't pretty, but luckily, Jaime has a HUGE sense of humor!

And she still loves me best [:D] cuz I'm her own personal PITA!

We like you, we really, really like you.

And yes, I can deduce there were times when you really tried to give someone several chances and it just didn't work out.

At least I haven't stepped on your toes, yet, which is amazing, since I wear a size 13 wide shoe.

As for remembering someone who was excommunicated, it doesn't mean that they can come back, even if they did make some good contributions, now and then. For example, I think Joel was on the verge of a really good discussion about the dangers of health effects from in-breeding just for the sake of conformation. And that could easily happen with the AKC - Petland deal. But his point got lost in the other stuff, compounded by his inexperience with dog shows and show dog breeding, though several tried to educate him.

Others had good points about nutrition but couldn't keep personality out of it.

And Besty had several good points about the liability of dog ownership and breeding but that, too, got lost in the debating for the sake of debating.
