Remeber Joel

Of course I remember Joel.  Not everyone appreciated his sense of humor, as not everyone appreciates mine, and that might have been his downfall.  He gave me a chuckle more than once though.  I don't remember the circumstances of his leaving but I know he was banned.  Wonder if maybe we could get our boss to give Joel another chance?  We might all be speaking German if Eisenhower hadn't given Patton MANY second chances. 
 
I also wonder, from time to time, how Brenda is doing.  She and I never got along very well but just because we disagreed, doesn't mean I didn't like her.  Some people don't get that but it is the way I feel.  I do remember Brenda's demise though and she clearly, IMO, deserved a kick in the pants.
 
Also remember Christine, the girl from Australia?  I can't remember her user name.  VERY opinionated on nutrition issues.  Unfortunately, she had a bit of trouble expressing her opinion without resorting to personal attacks.  We emailed for awhile, after she was no longer welcome here, but I haven't heard from her in months.  I wonder how she is doing too.

Aw!  You guys are romanticizing Joel's verbal bombs!  I remember a few *really* bad ones (remember when Ernie got a haircut??).  Whew..  I agree though that he had his funny moments and he was consistently controversial if nothing else.

Brenda is doing great, she is on another board with many other previous i-doggers.   I remember Christine the Ozzy very well!  She was one of my favorite people.  SO darned opinionated, I LOVED it!!!   Remember the threads about crate training with Christine?  Those were doozies!  Her old name (before the board switch) was christine (ozzie72).

I had forgotten about those dandies.  What else did she have a major opinion on?  Shock collars?  It was so easy to get her fired up and I think some people goaded her.  Not that I have a problem with goading, of course, as I do it all the time.  []

It started with the whole depression meds thread and his posting some very racist stuff.  I think he'd used up his spare chances and then some by then.

We seem to be missing quite a few - Ashlee from Africa (she had computer issues w/the new forum), Oy (Scooter's mom), Lexibelle, Jules, Edison's mom.  But, asi es la vida, I suppose.

Ive wondered about Lexibelle.  I would love to see Winston and Romy.  Wonder where everyone goes when they leave here lol.

I do have a vague recollection of something about depression.  I don't remember anything racist though.  I do remember him using a derogatory term for a homosexual, then claiming he didn't know it was derogatory.  I am quite good at putting my foot in my mouth but occasionally I enjoy watching an expert squirm.  []

Yeah, I'd forgotten about the homosexual part of that whole ordeal.  At that point, he was grasping at straws, for sure.

I personally think Joel was just picked on. One person didn't like him so some others followed. Every post Joel made was torn apart. Some people here, myself included have said things that were a little shocking. Joel would say something shocking and folks would rally together to use it against him. I've read things from other people that have made my eyes pop out. He brought  alot of humor to the board and I really enjoyed it.
