My favorite season is autumn (I love when the air gets brisk), but a
true autumn doesn't exist out here. What I long for are the crisp, bright days, leaves crunching under my feet, brilliant colors in the landscape, that "autumn scent" -- all the things that are part of a New England autumn. Last year I went home to CT in October, and that did my heart good.
What I don't like about autumn here is that it means the horribly dreary, grey winter is coming. I'd much rather have colder weather with bright blue skies.
Glenda - one bright side to having the cold weather approaching is that the "you-know-whats" will no longer be hanging out in your yard, garage, etc. I used to love walking the dog in the winter in CT -- I knew we'd never run into one of those creepy things!
