My weekend was pretty boring, too, but that's fine with me.  More houseguests arrive tomorrow, so I was happy to enjoy a quiet house with no commitments other than some laundry and tidying up.

We did go to a neat organic farm for lunch yesterday.  It's very close to our house, but we've just not made the effort to get there before now.  They have U-pick for all kinds of great produce, along with a well-stock stand (including a big refrigerated case right there under the tent), so you can buy without doing the hard work!  You should've seen the size of the blackberries -- huge!

They also have a food cart.  During the week they serve special sandwiches and salads, all with their produce.  Yesterday they had the pizza oven going.  Fresh made dough, topped with all their produce (and other locally sourced items).  I had a piece of Margherita -- fresh heirloom tomatoes, basil, garlic, mozarella on a perfect crispy crust.  DH had one with figs and bacon on it.  They also serve milkshakes, so of course we had to try a blackberry one.  It was so thick you nearly needed a spoon, and it was a beautiful color.

Definitely will be going back there before the cart closes for the season!

My weekend was pretty hot. :)  Like about 100 F both days.

We took the dogs for a walk early Saturday but Sunday we didn't get moving very early due to a certain person being so slow moving.  We left around 9:30 AM and by the time we were going home we were all exhausted from the heat.  Belle especially doesn't handle the heat well these days. She didn't overheat but she sure was happy to get in the car with the a/c going full blast.

So this Saturday I have someone coming to give an estimate on kitchen cabinets and countertops. DH was surprisingly non committal when I told him.  I'm sure he'll scare off the estimator within the first 30 minutes. lol

So Nose Work class last week.  Decided to start a new thread to keep from boring everyone to death.

The organic farm visit sounds great! I need to find some place like that around here.

I was so spaced out and tired today that I hit the floor 1 elevator button 3x before I realized I was on floor 1.  That's a sure sign of sleep deprivation.

I dozed off without my muscle relaxer last nite so of course I had almost no sleep.  I almost got up at 3AM to take one but they stay in my system for such a long time that I was afraid to take one and be out of it for PT.

Ditto the organic farm applause.  Sounds super.

Julie, I think you're right. It made me LOL.

I was stunned to hear the news about Robin Williams.

Sad about Robin Williams.  It's especially sad when someone who made so many laugh had such demons inside. Rest easy, Robin.   The movie The Fisher King was my favorite of his work.

I came home to dog puke yesterday.  I'm pretty sure it was Belle.  She seems fine so hopefully just one of those random puke episodes.

The flooding in Detroit is insane.

Hope Belle is doing well, Jackie. Does NOT sound fun. I was floored yesterday over Robin Williams. He was such a big part of my life growing up, I am going to miss him. :(

My weekend was wonderful. :) I went home to Bloomsburg for our family reunion, there were 30 there, The only one who did not make it was my oldest Sister who will be 96 on Thursday, she was not having a good day poor dear. We had great food and a wonderful time, I stayed the whole weekend with my best friend also.

Vivian, I'm so glad you had such a great time at the reunion. :)

Vivian, you must have had a wonderful time with your extended family and best friend.  What a memorable weekend!

Julie, your elevator button incident reminds me of times when I've been so spacey at work that I'm using the keys on my adding machine to enter data into an Excel spreadsheet on my PC, wondering why nothing is appearing as I furiously punch in numbers!  Tongue Tied

I was very saddened by the news of Robin Williams, too.  I think with some people (especially comedians), the levels of emotional sensitivity and perception they must have in order to create humor out of the "everyday" trials and tribulations of regular life must sometimes feel like an incredible burden.  Always observing things around you, finding ways to make them funny, always having to be "on" and giving of yourself when you are in the entertainment industry . . . I can understand why someone who struggles with any kind of darkness or heaviness of heart might say, "I've had enough.  I've done enough.  I'm tired."  It's so sad to think of what he must have been feeling, despite spending his life making everyone laugh so much.

Vivian, I am so glad you had a good time at your family reunion!  Glenda, I hope you're feeling better today. Belle, I hope you are feeling OK.  Julie, your elevator story hit home. I can't count how many times have I done that

I was so shocked to hear about Robin Williams' passing--what a huge loss.

Vivian, sounds like the weekend was wonderful!!

Thanks Kate....better but still sore.  But, I did sleep like a rock last night!

I too am shocked.  To many of us, Robin Williams was an icon.  To some he was husband, father, loved one.  For those people, I wish for peace.

I am so saddened by the news of Robin Williams.  I have been reading stuff about him and depression/suicide most of the day and its all just so heartbreaking. :'(

Glenda I'm glad for the most part you seem to be going in the right direction to get healed up.

Sounds like a good visit, Vivian.

Time to go grocery shopping, woo hoo, be jealous of the fun times @ our house, lol!
