And it is sticky! :) Happy Monday JackieG!

I finished painting the garage door - it looks great.

I finally tried some Rainier cherries - they are good. I'm not sure they are $6.00/lb good, but now I can say I have had them.

Not much else, just work, work, work.

Thanks, Kaitlin! Happy Monday to you too. Isn't "Happy Monday" an oxymoron?  lol

I'm glad you finished the garage door Tina. I wish I'd been that productive this weekend. It's too hot to want to do anything. That's my excuse anyway.

I did take Gabby to a small park in our neighborhood. I haven't been to this one in years. It has a pond. It goes dry during droughts and we've been in a drought for a while. The rains we've had this Spring have filled it and it was so pretty. We went around 9:30AM and by the time we left I was sweating like I'd run a marathon.

Back from the beach.  Will post pics tomorrow.  Ruby did very well in the hotel (her first stay), but not so well walking around the little town where tons of dogs were with their people.  Her dog reactivity seemed worse than when we are at home.  Lots of frustration and disappointment for us, as it was her first trip like this., and we hoped she'd do well enough to consider more getaways.  If we do it again, we'll make sure to go off-season when it's less crowded, but it may be best to go without her., which makes me sad.

She's very tired tonight, as our we.  House guests  headed home from there, so we're happy for a quiet house  tonight.  Lights out early for us!

Julie, that storm sound frightening!  Glad you were all okay, and the kids had a pup distraction.

Tina, I'm ashamed to say I've paid $8.99 per pound for those cherries at peak season.  I figure if I can get them for only a couple weeks, that's far cheaper than beer and cigarettes other folks might buy!  ;-)

Sorry to hear Rudy had such a hard time walking around town. Abbie struggles with it too. I don't know what the right answer is. Every now and then we join the local 'around town" training class to give her more exposure.

Brrr! Where the heck is summer? I am about to get out my winter down comforter it is so cold. And I'm all be died up in a sweatshirt and wool socks. I'm not at all happy with the lack of hot days this summer. We only had a few. That's totally not enough

Summer is right here, Julie. Sorry you are having cold weather when it should be nice and warm.  We've been pretty hot here. A customer complained their a/c wouldn't cool their store below 75 degrees. Well, you have two hundred halogen spot lights and your unit is doing all it can.

Tracy, I understand your frustration and disappointment with Ruby's behavior.  I doubt Belle will ever be able to walk around a lot of other dogs without becoming over aroused. It doesn't help when so many other dogs are also reactive and ramping up every dog they see. Belle is better than she's ever been but she will never be a dog who just walks along calmly.

I slept so well last night. It was great but I had trouble waking up and still feel groggy.

    • Gold Top Dog

I'm glad you slept well, Jackie. I did not. No sense 2 of us being awake half the night.

Oh, the lack of summer temperatures is not going to ripen my tomatoes. Angry

Trying to find a company to pump a grease trap in northern Michigan is next to impossible since the DEQ changed a lot of the laws here. I've already wasted 2 hours searching to no avail.

Taking my grumpy self back to the pile of invoices.

    :) is it Friday yet?

Been a while since I was on. I Like how you are grouping the chat now. Hope all is well. Not much to report here. Miles and I went Kayaking last weekend. Lots of fun! Hope to be on more in the next few weeks.

    • Gold Top Dog

Does Miles sit in the kayak with you?  That would be a fun pic to see!

Julie, we're both dealing with some climate change effects, I think.  You've got such unusually cold weather where you are, and we've had far too many days over 90 degrees for the typical summer here.  90's again today, and hot temps due all week. We rarely have to keep the A/C on during the night, but we've had to run it 24/7 several times this month.

I've got some pics of the beach I'll put in the post below.

Here is Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach.  All those white chairs are put out there by the hotels on the beach.  All beaches in Oregon are public, so you don't have to be a hotel guest or homeowner to walk anywhere you want.

Here is the view looking north up the coastline:

Here is a sunset shot -- not a perfect image since I was using a cellphone:

Ruby would NOT stand still on the beach -- she was trying to run and leap as much as the long-line would go.  This was the only time I caught her still:

This is south of Cannon Beach, along Highway 101 -- we pulled over to take the pic when we saw the way the clouds/fog were hanging over the shoreline.  Again, not great due to cellphone camera:

WOW! You got some great shots! Looks like an amazing time! :)

Nice pictures, Tracy! I'll admit, when I scrolled down, I read the caption about the pic of Ruby as being with the picture above the one you meant. I thought, "When did Ruby turn into a bird?" Then I realized your words were above each photo and that I should probably scroll further down.

    Yeah, I'm that tired.
