    @sharismom
when I scrolled down, I read the caption about the pic of Ruby as being with the picture above the one you meant. I thought, "When did Ruby turn into a bird?" Then I realized your words were above each photo and that I should probably scroll further down.

I think handling a bird on our beach getaway would've been easier than handling Ruby!  Tongue Tied She was intent on chasing the seagulls, however, so it's a good thing we had her on the long line!

Great pictures Tracy!  What a beautiful beach.

I forgot to tell you guys about the dog supply shop we saw at the beach.  In the window were dozens of little signs that customers filled out.  The format was:  "My dog is my _______ ."  Most were what you'd expect -- my best friend, my buddy, my running partner, my heart, my soul, etc.  But some were very funny and clever.  My favorites were:

    . . . my pick-up line

    . . . my wallet

. . . my reason for snorting wine out of my nose

    . . . my alarm clock

What a beautiful beach Tracy! I am so sorry that Ruby was a handful, I know it might seem daunting to try again but I can see B has improved over time as we take him places. He isn't aggressive reactive but he is still very hyper and so big it can be , er challenging. DH doesn't particularly enjoy taking him places but I like to, I must say down & relax a zillion times  an hour when we go to a pub, but it is so nice to see the improvement & my heart is happy when I see people loving on him.

    OK enough of that.

This is my last week of some level of sanity at work and I put in a LONG day. Tomorrow too but if I reach my goal I am off Thursday & Friday.

Dry & coolish temps today, I love it ( our version of cool is mid to upper 80's) as for climate change I would say we've had super wet summers the last 3-4 yrs. last week our area had about 7-10 inches of rain. That is nuts!

Someone asked a while back, I did get a new car, a Volvo v60 which is a wagon. It is nice a sporty but gets excellent gas mileage, averaging about 32 mpg per tank.

That is all. My garden is producing some of the nicest looking jalapeños you can imagine. I came home today and DH was pickling some, my eyes burned  upon entering

Tracy those pictures were just great...cell phone did quite okay. Tough when you have a reactive dog. I understand as I have 2 of them. Our Border Collie not so much anymore but our crazy little agility guy Corey still is.  It has prevented us from seeing and doing some things, when they are with us. Thing is, most of our traveling is because of them, as it is to agility trials in various places. It gets a bit better each time. We live in the country, so they really don't get walks around many people on a day to day basis. I always try to remember to have treats and try to think ahead, of where we can be in relation to the other people or people and their dogs. I try to always keep the distant of the comfort area and also to treat often, hoping over time that the comfort area will get closer and closer to the others. I always remind myself of why they love agility so much and do it with such excitement, amongst many distractions. Positive training and lots of treating.

Glad you all liked the photos.  Oregon beaches offer rugged beauty, but there's not much sunbathing or frolicking in water, as it's way too cold 95% of the time.

Luckily, Ruby is nice when she greets people. In fact, a couple times people pet her as they  passed us, and she was just fine.  And although she is on full alert while walking by dogs on the sidewalks, she'll keep moving with our encouragement and treats.

The issues were when we were sitting or standing while SIL or BIL were in a shop, and a dog wanted to greet her.  Two young, agreeable males seemed not to bother her at first -- she even play bowed -- but then she'd bark or snarl or try to get up on her hind legs.  We do wonder if it's mainly due to being on a leash, and trying to protect DH since she is so attached to him, and he's holding the leash.

I do think she can improve, so we'll remain hopeful!

Oooh, I love those, Tina.  We just had some last night -- sauteed with some garlic and olive oil and basil, tossed with pasta.  They're so sweet!

Is it just me, or did July zoom by?  I can't believe it's the 30th.  I have a quarterly report to file with the state by tomorrow, and I swear I thought I had a week or so left!

Well I agree with Jackie& Tracy.  Work was a mess this whole week & July flew by.

Bugsy may be the most stubborn& insistent being on earth. Lol the song "there's your trouble" just came on.  Too perfect. :)

I am taking the next 2 days off, I shouldn't but ah well

Glad you're taking a few days off work, Karen. I'm jealous. They say we're going to have a few cooler days. Low to mid 90's. Brrrr. lol

Yesterday my DS stopped over at the house and raided the fridge when I was at work. He didn't leave a note or anything, so when I went to get my leftovers out for dinner, I realized I had half as much. I was annoyed.

Busy here and it's cold by Texas standards.
