    Tuesday chat

stayed up too late watching basketball but it was a great game!

Need to get B out for his first walk of the day - dropping rimadyl levels today so we'll see how that goes

Spring has truly sprung - I can't sleep at all from about 5 am - I swear I was meant to be a farmer.

OK much to do again today, crazy week so best get at it

Up late as well ***YAWN*** watching the game. I will say I was truly impressed with all the players. They were very eloquent when speaking to the media afterwards. It's sad that most pro-basketball players sound like they haven't graduated kindergarten and these young men were leagues ahead of them. Busy day and going to brave Costco this afternoon - wish me luck that place is a frickin zoo!

Gray day. Rain right now, but 80% chance of snow today, 80% chance of snow Wed, 40% chance of snow Thur. I think I am going to go back to bed.

We may have to start using our fire place. I took some limbs off a tree to open up the garden, get some sun on it. I now have a big pile of wood, and have a few more branches to drop. The branches were hanging over our apple trees, so I had to get creative with rope and the truck. I think I love my chain saw. It starts and runs (this differs from its predecessor).

I think I am hooked on "Vikings".

Someone here is very cranky this morning and it's not me.

The good news is my computer problem was an easy fix.  The power supply went bad and DH robbed one from another computer.  I was dreading the thought of it being a fatal error type thing.

I slept so soundly last night I still feel half asleep.  Coffee, stat!

    It might be me.

Gosh why are some simple things so freaking difficult!! I am trying to reload the prescription for B's rimadyl. He has been using some that was left over from January. The vet that did the prescription is the knee surgeon. His office is acting like I'm some drug trafficker and has to get approvals etc. Really? We got 30 tablets in January? Its April. I didn't have the VA vet give us any because I had some and didn't want two scripts for the same thing. Whatever.

Pretty day here but I'll be inside again

Lisa I am very lucky that our Costco is generally easy accept on Saturdays. My mom's in NY is a total no go zone for me. The last time I went I thought my head would explode.

Jackie glad to hear it was just the power supply.  This reminds me that I really need to buy a new battery for my laptop.  It won't hold a charge anymore, so it has to stay plugged in all of the time when in use.  Darn things are expensive though (but given that this battery has lasted me a few years, it's really not that bad when you look at it like that).

I'm in full blown panic mode at the moment.  Not so much about the interview part of the interview today (though that's always a bit nerve wracking) but that stupid skills test.  I found some online excel tests and my knowledge is not good.  I just haven't used excel in a very very long time and even then not much.  Oh well, at least this gives me a chance to meet with the hiring team (that does the first round of interview questions), so if I'm not right for this position - they may remember meeting me when something else comes up.  Trying to look at this interview as just practice.  Makes me feel a smidgen calmer lol.

Deep breaths, Sharon, you've got a lot of idog vibes behind you, so you know it will be good Wink

Sharon deep breaths and calm yourself. Just tell them that you are AWARE that you are rusty with Excel and ensure them that you can get up to speed asap with a bit of self-study and practice. Personally I would suggest you focus on performing well on the skills you do have and not focus at all on the Excel stuff. Its fixable if they want the rest of what you've got Big Smile

    Ditto what Karen said, Sharon.

Not much excitement here. Just finished the corporate Amex plus all the other crap that I'm supposed to do by the 11th. Being pushed to get it done earlier and I came through.

Tired today and didn't stay up to watch the game. Insomnia has been an issue lately. Bleh.

It's me and I have a dental appointment this afternoon to boot.

Sharon:  don't forget that you can always use the question mark icon on the Excel bar and it will practially walk you through anything you need to do.

I just got a sales call for my home business. Some guy asking me if my company accepted visa/mc. I said no, and he said oh great, and was about to go into a sales pitch. Then he said, it's my first day, if you'll bear with me for a sec, then he put me on hold. lol! Um... no. Click.G'bye!

Calming vibes and Rupey nuzzles are on the way, Sharon!

omg!! LOL! He probably forgot what he was supposed to say ;).

It's still super windy here today but calmer than yesterday. Definitely a day for allergy meds though.

Karen - I feel for you dealing with the refill on the pain meds. I emailed Shane's cardiologist last week to tell her he only had one refill left and could she write a new script. She emailed me back and said by law she can't write a new script until the one year point from when she last saw him. What? She suggested I ask my regular vet to write it since she's seen Shane more recently. Fortunately, they're the most helpful folks in the world so they took care of it and sent it to Costco this time. I found out that the price at Costco is about 1/3 of what I'd been paying at Walgreens. I wish I'd checked on that a year ago.

their service is fabulous too. I still haven't heard back from the local surgeon, I could get there today if they'd either get it done or say no.

My irritableness is climbing - my nutty neighbor is chainsawing and its so freaking loud that I can't hear the training videos I am working on. I don't want to batten down the hatches as its beautiful and so nice to have windows open. Clearly I am edgy but this neighbor is the biggest nuisance - he's the one with the forever barking dogs too. Noise pollution is real

    • Gold Top Dog

Karen, I can sympathize with the neighbor-caused noise pollution.  It seems whenever I finally give myself permission to sit on the patio and read, then one of the people on our street will fire up a power washer or a leaf blower.  Or, there's another neighbor who has a habit of sitting on her porch and talking on the phone -- she's one of those people who has a REALLY loud voice and whose laugh is a million decibels.  Even when I put my earbuds in and listen to music to try to drown her out, I can still hear her.

Sharon, sending lots of calming interview vibes your way.  I agree that you can just say that you're aware that you're Excel skills are bit rusty, but then focus on all the strengths and skills you can offer them.  Excel is one of those things that is easy to get up to speed just by using it for a little while.  It won't take long before you're an Excel expert!  :-)

Doug, sounds like a fire in the fireplace would be a good idea, based on your weather report!

Costco is a nightmare here.  We don't have a membership, but we've met friends there to use their membership.  We try to go as early as possible on Sunday when most people are still at church!

I just read an article in a recent WDJ issue about saving money on pets' medications by filling the prescriptions at places like Costco.  Also, AAA offers some kind of discount.  We've not had to get long-term expensive drugs, but if we do, I will look into that.  The article quoted some major savings!!
