    Wednesday chat

I just know one will be posted by the time I finish this

    Cold and frosty this morning

    soooooooo much to do

I think we are up to 34 people for that party next Friday - I feel sick..................

It's cold here too but not frosty.  I think it was 38 F but we'll be warm again this afternoon.

Slept terrible or rather didn't sleep.  Between my head cold, DH's snoring, Rex's diarreah it seemed like I never slept.  Dragging this morning.  Oh and to make my morning complete Ruger killed a cat in the backyard at work this morning.  Crying

The high here today is supposed to be 34. I'm still looking for a good deal on a new winter jacket that I actually like.

That's a lot of people for dinner, Karen. Are you providing all the food?

Jackie, I'm sorry you didn't sleep well and sad about the kitty. Hopefully Rex's diarrhea is nothing too serious.

    Must work now.

Ah, hump day.  Climbing over the top of it feels like too much today tho!

Yikes Jackie - what a night and morning you've had. (((Hugs)))

Yikes Karen - that's a lot of people. I couldn't fit 34 people in my house, let alone think of stuff to feed them all.

The news is really hyping up the storm(s) rolling in. I hope it won't be as bad as they're making it sound but it will definitely be a miserable few days. Somehow we're going to have to find breaks in the weather to get Shane out for walks. Even with a couple walks a day, he can be pesky when he's bored.

Oye, sounds like a bad morning already.

Speaking of alcohol, if anyone is curious, the Smirnoff Iced Cake Vodka tastes like cake batter ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery.  I bought one of those nips when I was picking up the caramel vodka for our autumn-themed party.  Just tried it last night.

If it wasn't so cold, I could use some cake batter ice cream right now.

    welcome to my world lol

Sorry you & Rex aren't well - hope you both are on the upswing

No offense Paige that vodka sounds awful to me. Deb I'll have a Herradura reposada.

We have had some people say they are bringing a dish and I presume many will bring wine or beer - they did last year. I have no idea where we will put everything and fortunately people don't tend to sit. I am seriously stressing but need to focus on work first. I am sure it will all be fine. Gulp

This morning Willa was looking through her shirts hanging in her closet, trying to decide what to wear to school. She came across her pirate shirt (that she picked out of the boys' department of Kohl's last summer) and quickly pulled it out. She said, "Sometimes at school the boys don't let me play with them. So maybe if I wear this boy shirt they'll let me play." OMG my heart broke into a million pieces. She wasn't really too sad about it, more matter-of-fact. If she had been more sad I probably would have started crying. This poor girl. She's such a tomboy. And she's so shy. I know how hard it must have been for her to ask to play… and then to get shot down. Ugh. I so remember that spirit-crushing feeling from when I was little. I didn't even know what to say. I'll talk to her more about it later; kind of hard to have a heart-to-heart during the morning rush.

On a lighter note, I just got a text from DH, who is at work, "Someone here just told me that without the moon we wouldn't have night, because the moon covers up the sun."

I asked him if he was having a conversation with a 3-year-old. lol! I'm sure we'd have some problems if the moon went away, but not having night probably wouldn't be one of them!! I'm guessing this conversation stemmed from a little bit of the news we watched last night, about how like in the 60s or something, the US wanted to nuke the moon to show off for Russia.

I know what you mean Jan. Riley has such a hard time socializing with new kids. Alot of the time she just stands there and says, "Hi my name is Riley and I am 5". My heart just breaks when they ask her something else and she just repeats "Hi my name is Riley and I am 5" because she doesn't understand the question. Usually after a couple of rounds they walk away from her. Like Willa she isn't really sad, just confused and disappointed. I on the other hand feel like balling my eyes out.
