    Rainy Monday Chat

It was about 50 degress this morning when I got up and should be about 40 when I leave from work at the end of the day.  Oh well, we knew it was coming.

Regarding yesterday's Ravioli's - they are on the smaller side (when I make them for DH, Riley and me, I make the big ones - below pic).  The whole family will scarf down about 800 on Christmas Eve and the rest we get to divide up and take them home.  We have the process completely nailed down so it runs at top efficiency...as my dad said yesterday, "that's what you get when you have a bunch of engineers running the show LOL."

These are the ones Riley and I make by hand, we use ravioli forms at my mom's house which speeds up the process significantly and they are about 1/4 the size!!  LOL

Wow Lisa.  You put my marathon cooking sessions in a whole new light....tiny!  LOL.

We're getting a mix of sun and clouds today and a high of 63.  I shall gladly take it.  Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous.  Mother Natures last real treat before winter?  Or just rubbing it in?

Not a work day, but I still have people to see today so will do that this morning, give blood this afternoon and call it good.  I wouldn't mind going back to bed but that's not gonna happen!

Have a good day everyone, and remember to thank a Vet!

Lisa, I've never had homemade ravioli.  Crying  Your family ravioli making reminds me of families around here that get together and make tamales.

I think Rex has blown the ACL in his right knee. :(  Noticed him favoring it Friday and it's gotten progressively worse.  He's hardly putting any weight on that leg now.  He already had a vet appointment for tomorrow for a heartworm test and to check what I thought was a shoulder injury. I sure hope I'm wrong about his knee.

Garbage disposals don't like shot glasses.  We learned this the hard way yesterday.  Luckily DH was able to get all the glass out without removing the whole thing and got it unjammed.

I took down the curtains in the spare bedroom to wash.  I now have very wrinkled curtains that are about a foot shorter than they used to be.  Note to self: read the label. I didn't realize these were 100% cotton.

About the only good thing that happened this weekend is the Cowboys gave Michael Vick a concussion and won the game.  Oh and I bought and planted some cyclamen.  They'll bloom all winter if we don't have any severe cold weather.  They're one of my favorite flowers.

I have never had raivioli in my life! You are making me want to try some.

I am watching that show Globe Trekker. Love this show. They do a great job showing interesting places around the globe.

No work today. Might go shopping. I lost my most favorite winter gloves and need to hunt for a n identical replacement. Not an easy task!

Jewlie, you've never had ravioli?!?!  How is that possible?  (Then again, half my family is Italian...)

I feel so much better than last week.  I laid low all weekend and I finally don't feel bone tired anymore and no more dry hacking cough.

I'm once again thinking about growing out my hair.  I seem to do this often lol.  I'll see how long I can stand the growing out process this time.  I give myself 3 months before I make an appointment to get it hacked off again.

What??????? You have to try some. My mom and aunt made them from scratch for Christmas every year but it was an all day process. I've yet to have any that tasted as good as those were though. What do you use for filling Lisa?

    Jackie - I hope you're wrong about Rex :(.

I slept like a rock last night and feel great this morning. I might go do some fun shopping today too.

Haha! Well, let's just say that my family is culinary challenged. Italian dishes were especially untasty. To this day, I won't eat spaghetti.

Awww, geeze Julie!  Not being Italian I won't put my sauce up against Lisa's, but I'm told by my stepson the Chef that my lasagna is legendary.  I make ravioli now and again, but I sure wouldn't put that up against Lisa's either.  After all, genes do improve just about anything in the kitchen.  Might I just suggest that no truly good food comes from a can, a jar or out of the freezer section.

My great grandma (rest her soul) made the best meatballs.  She always lied about what she used to make them, so to this day no one has been able to quite replicate them.

My sauce is satisfactory, but I need to work on it lol.  One of my favorite comfort foods is spaghetti and meatballs (or just a meat sauce).

All the talk of ravioli made me want some. It was not really great, just frozen stuff, but this is what a non Italian has to deal with.
