The Dynamics of a Perfect Storm . . . Deb W.

1) There is a hurricane coming up the eastern seaboard expected to make a direct hit in the NY/NJ area.

2) I live in NJ and really, really need some more aggravation in my life.

3) When you think of NJ - who do you think of?  Bruce Springsteen.

4) One of Bruce Sprinsteen's most famous songs is Fourth of July, Asbury Park (Sandy).

5) The name of the hurrican expected to hit?  Sandy.

6) The 3rd horse in the 7th race at the Meadowlands today is named JerseyStormCat.

With all of these events converging at once, I fully expect to have about 22 feet of water in my basement soon.  Therefore, Jamison and I will be swimming to your house Tina, sometime on Monday afternoon.  Make sure you open the door for us !!!

Note to self:  stop being such a wise ass, because it'll come back to bite you everytime.

Self to note:  yeah, like that's going happen anytime soon.

MY POWER IS BACK ON !!!!!  You have no idea how relieved we are since the nor'easter is coming.  We have light, heat and can run our sump pumps in case of flooding.

I made it back to work today, and have a mountain of work but I'm lucky that I got paid and didn't have to use any vacation or personal time.

I just want to give a special shout out to Jackie, Tina, Karen and Kate.  You guys really kept going with all your texts and calls.  

I also appreciate every one else who posted good wishes for me and my family. 

My one brother still doesn't have electricity but has a generator and a fire place so they are doing fine.  My parents are safe and sound in a friend's summer home and also have heat and electricity.  I still have no phone, tv or internet but that is the least of my worries right now.

You guys rock and I love you all.

When I have time, I'll tell you a really funny story about the crew from Illinoise that restored my power.  They were literally angels from heaven.

I'm in the allergy doctor waiting my 30 minutes. The woman next to me works at the residential facility I used to teach at. She must work with some of my former students, because I see some names I recognize on some paperwork she is filling out. It's a shame they're still there.

The kid I saw this morning poured a bag of pretzels all over the room. Yesterday, he flung a box of sweet tarts all over. I hope that doesn't predict anything. All he had to do to get some was ask (and he can). Instead he got to vacuum them up.

 Deb, nice to hear from you!  Give Jamison a smooch for me. 

Still sick, but at work at least for half the day.  I did get out and voted yesterday.

A friend (more like an acquaintance now, we grew apart) posted online that they are going to breed their dog to make some extra cash.  The puppies will be mixed breed and they're selling the puppies for nearly what I paid for Ari (full breed, paperwork going generations back, health testing, titles, etc.).  Between that, her rather nasty comments on people with political beliefs such as myself - I've decided to just cut all contact.  She's not the person I was friends with before, not even close.  I would have been fine with just our opposing political viewpoints - but I guess my limit is blatantly breeding mixed breed puppies for extra cash.

Yay!!!! We are doing the happy dance here for Deb!!  So glad your power is back on in time for the Noreaster!!!!

Sharon, I'm sorry you're sick and hope you start feeling better soon.  I'm with you on cutting ties to that type of "friend".  I can deal with a lot of differences but I too draw the line when it comes to dogs and their welfare. 

Deb, give Jamison a belly rub for me but don't wake him up. :)  Poor guy must be exhausted.
