Anyway Auntie Deb W. gave Bugsy a new toy  He kept nosing at my suitcase so I opened it and he rifled through my clothes and found it!

I don't know which of you guys to think of first this morning!!   -- my printer is COVERED with salmon-colored stickies!!

However -- Bugsy says who the heck thot up that big old paper thingamy on HIS toy -- I mean, don't they KNOW it messes up being able to shake the darned thing!!  Marketing -- packaging -- who needs it!!!  A guy can't get a good hold on it TO play with it once he finds it -- sheesh).

Deb you are in my thoughts! Hoping you stay dry and safe and enjoy a little storm time off from work!

Spoke to mom - she's OK, bro and family are there. One of his dogs is stressed out horribly so they may go out to get valerian root but have been told no one is to be on the roads except in emergency. She lives within a couple of miles of a drug store so I hope one of them gets the poor dog some stress relief. 

One cousin lives on a barrier island so she is with my uncle and my nephew in Philly says his place should be OK but there is already some flooding around

It is so easy to poo-poo there predictions of doom with the weather but I think this time everyone believed them. Praying that all around the impact of this thing is not as great as they are saying it will be.

Edit to add: Callie he was too impatient to let me take the cardboard off - he needed to squeak and shake for a while first 

I hope my Massachusetts family is doing well.  My Mom is north of Boston and a bit inland.  However, she lives in a trailer, so I always get worried when the wind starts gusting.

Bugsy, you're a very silly and handsome boy!  Reminds me that I haven't gotten Ari a new toy in a bit.  Think I might drop by the pet store on the way home :)  She's been taking her own "new" toys lately.  There's a tennis court by me and people frequently lose their tennis balls (or just don't bother getting them) and she finds them.  We're probably up to half a dozen by now lol. 

Really tired today.  Can't seem to get moving.  

Hope everyone in the storm's path is ok.

Where to start today?  Lisa sending healing vibes for your sis...calming vibes for you.  Jen. Kate, Deb, Glenda, Karens family and anyone else within 150 miles of the coast be safe, prayers coming your way. 

Bugsy I can think of no better way to start my day than with you and your squeaky toy....lol....wtg Auntie Deb. 

Where is Gina and her holloween preparations???  I look forward to her costumes every year.

Thoughts and prayes for your sister Lisa.

Lots of good thoughts for everyone in the path of the storm. It looks about as bad as they predicted :(.

We had a good time at the volunteer picnic yesterday. I let Shane into the dog park with several other goldens and at first he seemed overwhelmed by their interest but then started to have fun. I felt like a worried mama though as I watched then run into him and bowl him over. He bounced back up though and was off running. He went the sidelines to rest after about 10 min's, so I knew that was our cue to go join the picnic. He was sure one tired pupster on the ride home :).

Deb - I hope Jamison is okay. I'm curious what an ear patch is.

had some liquid bandage in case it was needed. 

I fixed Rocky ear with Liquid bandage and Ron fixed my head with it once when I fell.  We keep it around at all times

 We went out into town to CVS, because I was desperately in need of decongestant and cough drops. The nail place in town was open (among other things). I understand some of the food places, someone has to feed the people working, but who the hell is getting their nails done?

Not me, even in good weather but I know some women that would.

I hope Jamison's ear is doing better and it's nice to know we have so many smart people like Jackie around to help.

Speaking of ears, I went ahead and got Shane an appt for 11:30 to have his ear(s) looked at. He's been itching the right one for the last couple of days and the cleaner hasn't helped. It's still completely clean but it's looks pinker today, so I just want to get something to calm down whatever is going on. There isn't that's much sadder than seeing your dog look at you with that sad head tilt :(

Cool.  Made a trip that I thot was wasted since the business was shut up tight.  My editor just called to let me know that the biz called in to confirm his quarter page ad.  Doing my happy dance!

Back to hurricane chat.

Lisa, good vibes and prayers for your sister.  It's hard being put in the middle like that, but hopefully everything will blow over and nobody will need to be told anything.

They've been talking about the possibility of rain for Halloween here, but so far  the skies are blue and the sun is shining.  We'll see.  Not that many kids go out anymore anyway.  I'm making an effort (and not doing so well) at staying out of  the candy.  So far, I've just been snatching the little boxes of Dots.

I got emails this morning from my Mom in CT and my cousins in RI . . . they're battening down the hatches and have lined up all the food, ice, water, candles, flashlights, batteries, alternative heat and cooking methods, etc. and are hoping for the best.  Haven't heard from my sister yet (she's in Boston).  We've also got friends on the CT shoreline and one in lower Manhattan that I'll try to connect with for updates if possible.  It really does sound like it's not just hype.  I hope all of you in the storm's path are safe.  And please check in here when you can for those of us not on FB.

That video of Bugsy with his new wubba toy was cute.  It's so funny how dogs prance around so happily with a new toy.  They're so easy to please sometimes!
