    Daisy is not full dalmatian and she got very short legs

    Oh got it! From her photos that I've seen, I thought she was all Dal, which was why I asked.  I agree with Callie, as they age they do get frail even if nothing serious is going on -- just as I'm seeing in my Dad, too.

    I know, the wait is always annoying to say the least!

    Nope she's my dalmatian knocked at the knees lol I had people ask me if she was a dwarf or one of those miniature dalmatians I get alot of whispers when people see her it's pretty funny to hear what they think about her. Her mom was full dalmatian father unknown first it was said she was put with the dalmatian at the firehouse then it was a Dachshund got ahold of her, so we don't know and all the puppies looked the same just like dalmatians but some grew to have long legs the others had short legs. I'm glad my Daisy has the short legs she's unique that's for sure. @Callie I'll ask the vet when he calls. Thanks everyone. I have been thinking of maybe cooking her human food I had ask the vet if I should fatten her up but he said no with her issue he rather her not be fat.

    Got Daisy her 5th shot today of Adequan she won't get one for another month now but got her blood results not good news she's having kidney issues her Urea Nitrogen is high it's a 36 normal range is 6-31 and her Creatinine is high 2.5 normal range is 0.5-1.6. So now she is on Epakitin and Azodyl.

    Anyone have any knowledge about kidney problems in dogs? First time for me.  I did ask the vet with this issue now was it because of the Adequan shot he said no.  I don't know about my girl anymore..

    The only advise I can offer is look at her quality of life. Does she still enjoy herself?

      Although a BUN that's elevated (36) is worrisome, that's not too far above normal range. Is her blood pressure checked on a regular basis? Jessie is 14 and was diagnosed with high blood pressure ( 180 ) about a year ago. High blood pressure can cause problems with the kidneys. Jessie's kidney values were well within normal range on blood work, but her urine protein creatine ratio was .7, and normal is anything up to .5. She was put on medication for her blood pressure and an ACE inhibitor to help her kidneys. Her blood pressure is now normal (100), and her last urine protein creatine ratio was .4. So, it might be good to have Daisy's blood pressure checked if it hasn't been. Did the vet talk to you about her diet? Avoiding a diet high in phosphorus reduces the workload on the kidneys. Fish oil helps the kidneys too. This site has some good information;
