I asked and was told a murmur can be so slight it is insignificant and that it is often a subjective opinion made by the doctor who is listening.

That's what I'm hoping and I agree that it is surely very subject to the doctor listening and she told me not to worry.  :)  This is me.  Not worrying. lalalala

Tina - congrats on your independence!  How long has he been back with you??

I've been looking at buying a place, but I really need the cash flow to increase to make me feel comfortable w/the decision.  It's scary as hello!  Working on the income thing now, btwn working for a Fortune 500, being part owner in a consulting company, and getting paid to make my hobby (dog training) something useful for others and profitable for me!  Not much more I can do other than risking my $ in investments, but I'm much more cautious than that.  But, really, is there ever enough $$!? lol

I'm glad Twister did well at the new vet's office.  I hope his chemo treatments go smoothly, and like others posted, the heart murmur should be little cause for worry (I know, easier said than done!).

Tina, congrats on the news about your son's relocation!  Are you sure you want to throw a big forum party right away?  Not that we all wouldn't enjoy it, but you might want to relish having your house to yourself for a little while (clean, organized, quiet, etc.).  You wouldn't want a bunch of us crazy people and dogs wrecking the place so soon! Wink

Paige, that old dairy barn is GORGEOUS!  Oh, how I miss seeing structures like that out here.  Sure, there are lots of dairy (and other farms), but the homes and buildings are way too new compared to old New England farmhouses and barns.  I wish I was there to snoop around that one with you!

Another very chilly morning here, but nothing like Janice's temps.  Yikes!

Edited to add:  Paige, there never seems to be enough $ for one's plans, but if the market in NH is anything like it is out here, it is definitely a great time to buy.  If you can swing it, you'll get a lot more for your $ than you would've in the past few years.  I hope it works out for you!

Believe me, if it were my pet, esp. one in Twister's situation, I'd be worrying my fool head off. It's easy to armchair dx everyone else's problems and still sleep at night. For the pet owner, not so much.

Since July 5, 2010. Not that I've been counting.

Tracy, you make a good point, though my thought was I could have my friends over without being quizzed or chaperoned. I could have liquor in the house and naked men if I wanted. I'm in the mood to party. I'll worry about cleaning up those remnants later. DrinksParty!!!

Tina (and Jackie) I hope you don't think I was trying to armchair dx twister or belittle your worry. Of course I would be worrying my fool head off too and I know it must have rattled you to hear the vet say heart murmur. I was sincerely trying to make you feel a bit better.

Oh geez, Julie, that was not in any way directed at you. I was making a general comment, mostly because I was offering my story and also sounding as if I was saying to Jackie that it's nothing to worry about. I'm sorry if it didn't read like it sounded in my head. It was in no way a criticism. Tongue Tied

Ok. :) sometimes it is hard to know the meaning behind posts on the internet, they are so easy to misinterpreted. Better to be safe than sorry ya know?

Hmmmmmm . . . maybe the solution would be to keep the naked men around after the party and put them to work with the vacuum, mop, dust rag, etc.

Reminds me of a photo that made the rounds in email a while back:  it was a naked guy pushing a vacuum, and the caption said:  "Porn for women."  Big Smile

Julie, the intent of your reply was obviously a good one.  We all try to say something supportive or helpful, even though we know how worried we would be under similar circumstances.  Smile

Julie, I know. I'm going to hop home now and hopefully be able to remove my foot from my mouth.

    • Gold Top Dog
No no your foot is not in your mouth! I was overly worried that I was misunderstood, that is all. No harm no foul!

It never crossed my mind that you were being anything but supportive, Julie.  I know I'd be saying the same thing to someone else and have done so before.  I appreciate being given a different perspective because it's easy to get caught up in feeling worried about every little thing and it does make me feel better. :)
