    Finally Friday chat

Wahooooo!!  We've almost made it through another week!  And a glorious long weekend awaits!

    Have a good one all!

TGIF!  I have a busy work day ahead.  Too much last minute scheduling scrambling is keeping me up at night, literally.  Tomorrow, I've decided to just start throwing stuff at our house out.  I keep going back and forth between keeping stuff, throwing it out or selling it.  Well, my house is a mess, cluttered and a disaster zone so out it all goes.  We have limited space in our condo, so it's time to cut back on the amount of crap we've accumulated.  I'm not happy being at home because it's so messy and cluttered with crap.  Home should be a sanctuary not a source of grief over "stuff" and messiness.

At my dentist appointment yesterday, the doc made me an offer to do my tooth implant at a greatly reduced cost to me since my insurance doesn't cover it. I could have kissed him.

I bought a cat toy the other day that Buddy loves. It's a knit mouse and it chirps very quietly, similar in size and sound to the real thing. He's been tossing, carrying, and "killing" it for the last two days - pretty funny to watch.

DS's plans to move out have been put on hold.  Huh?

I have a wedding reception to go to on Saturday after work. It'll be nice to see the family, but I really dread these kinds of functions. Fortunately it's being held in the local park, so I won't have to dress too fancy.

My morning didn't start out too well.  I almost made it to work but my Expedition suddenly went into "limp home" mode.  Luckily I was near a Drive Time inspection place and was able to pull into their driveway.  My coworker came and picked me and the dogs up and I left the car there for the wrecker.  At least it's still under warranty but I hate not having my vehicle and hope whatever is wrong isn't serious.  By the time I got to the office everyone was impatiently waiting for me.  I still feel slightly frazzled.

That sucks, Jackie. I hope it's nothing too major.

Yikes, Jackie !!  I hope I didn't "jinx" your new car.

Even if I sit around all weekend and do absolutely nothing  . . . I will be ecstatically happy not to be moving Kate into a high-rise dorm room or apartment for the first time in four years !!

Hope everyone has a great weekend !

Deb, now you can bet on and watch the Woodward! Stay Thirsty is running.

I'm going to put some money on Gourmet Dinner too.  I've had a lot of luck with the long shots this year.

I think Mr. W said we're going to the track for the simulcast.

Do you go to Monmouth or Meadowlands?

Where did the week go and how did it get to be friday already?! On that note, where did all of our mindless chatter buddies go?

I am barely awake today. I didn't get to sleep until 2:30 last night and then I probably only slept 20 mins at a time. Tossed and turned all night and had to get up to pee constantly for some reason. I can't wait to go home and zonk out in the AC.

I need to buy a new alarm clock. I'm so sad that the one that I have had for 15+ years is on the fritz. Maybe I will buy one of those sunlight clocks that progressively light up to wake you up instead of having a loud abnoxious beep.

I had another hearing test today and the outlook is positive. I have low frequency hearing loss but the doc says that might come back as I continue to heal. What a relief! There are some weird things going on with my left ear as far as drainage and sensation goes though. The doc said to just take the wait and see approach and it might resolve itself. I'm optimistic, I just have to be patient :)

ETA: Jackie, isn't that a brand new car? Yikes. Cheers for not having to deal with college move in days!

Monmouth always  . . . . they still have live racing going on that we can bet while we watch the other races.

Hello all!  My routine has been up-ended for the past 10 days while my mother and another family friend were here visiting.  I hadn't seen our friend in over 20 years (we were neighbors when I was very young).  We had a great time, but now I need a vacation to get some rest.  A lot of sight-seeing (which means tons of driving), lots of eating, drinking, and talking.  Not a lot of "quiet time" (which is what my normally boring life usually includes!).

I'm way behind on everything -- email, errands, chores, yardwork, etc.  I'm glad we've got a 3-day weekend; I'll need the extra day to make a dent in all that stuff.  I tried to check the forum a couple times for a few minutes, but I'm behind on the goings-on here, too.  I'll have to go back and read some threads to catch up.  I do remember seeing that your ear-tubes surgery went well, Julie, and that you're feeling much better, so that's great.

Since I had the nerve to take 6 days off from work, there's a lot piled up here that I have to finish today.  I may be here for a few extra hours.  Better get to it.

Can you believe it's the last day of August???  Where the heck did the summer go?!

    Monmouth always  . . . .

That's what I figured cuz it's runners. We simulcast Monmouth and have bettors here who call it "Mammoth". I'm sorry, we don't have a Mammoth Park, would you care to pick another track? My all-time favorite has to be the customer who calls Calder "Cheddar." You want some whine with that when you lose? They aren't a smart bunch around here.

You know, come to think of it  . . . . I think we actually went to the Woodward about 10 years ago.  The W family and my girlfriend went up to Saratoga for a week and I remember getting all dressed up with the hats and everything for the races on one of days we were there.  The funniest thing I remember though is my girlfriend (who's a racing junkie) and Mr. W talking about going to the "Spa".  So I ask Mr. W "are you actually going to the spa?''  and he's says of course.  So then I ask him what day and he says everyday.  I couldn't believe it  . . . . Mr. W going to a spa everyday on vaction.  Imagine my surprise when I found out that that's what they call the track in Saratoga.
