Jackie, I hope whatever the problem is, it's covered under warranty.

Yay for your ears, Julie! Will the tubes allow you to continue to dive?

Friday is my day off and the kids had daycare this morning. I LOVE mornings like that! I got soooooooo much cleaning done. It was mostly the lower level, but that's where it seems to get the most cluttered.

I'd really like to get some nice storage/shelving for my office. Everything is so mish-mosh and unmatched. Maybe I'll find something somewhat inexpensive at IKEA when I go to visit my sister next weekend.

Tracy, I hope you get caught up on all the chores and maybe even get to relax for a few minutes.  Having company can be lots of fun but I'm a firm believer in that saying "fish and company stink after three days"  or something along those lines. lol  I think Ben Franklin said it but could be wrong.

The truck isn't brand new but new enough that it's still has some warranty left from the original warranty.  I haven't heard yet from the dealer.  Deb, they better not mess with my 'got jack' sticker. lol   I hated leaving it this morning and wanted to send one of the guys up to wait for the wrecker. lol  Gabby thought riding in the crate in the back of a pickup was super cool.  She's only done that one other time when she was a young pup and that time she was pretty worried looking.

Julie, I'm so glad your hearing is going to be ok and hopefully you will get the low range hearing back as you heal.

Jan, glad you got some work done this morning without the kiddos around.

Deb, enjoy your weekend spent not moving Kate into a dorm.  How's she liking her new job?

She really likes it, but more importantly  . . . the head honchos there really like her !!  She really lucked out with this one !

Thanks for the welcome back greeting, Deb!  I bet your daughter is equally grateful that she's not spending the weekend moving into a dorm!

Jan, when you mentioned storage, I immediately thought of IKEA, then I read a few more words and saw that you came up with the idea already.  You're bound to find something perfect (and affordable) there!

Jackie, I've heard that saying about fish and houseguests.  It applies 110% when it's anyone in DH's family.  Tongue Tied  But for the most part, I enjoy long visits with my own family or old friends.  Yes, the schedule gets a bit hectic, and the house is in chaos with everyone's stuff everywhere, extra food and drink overflowing in the fridge and on the counters, etc. -- but I'm always happier when I'm with "my people" since I often feel a bit adrift here as a non-native (even after 20 years).  It's nice to be with people who truly know you and all your background (or should I say, baggage)!

Having said all that, I will be VERY happy to have a quiet evening tonight without multiple conversations and hostessing duties.  Mindless TV, here I come!  I've got several things on the DVR to choose from!

LOL, yes it does make a difference sometimes, doesn't it?  It's neat how you can jump right in with old friends and family and feel right at home.  I'm glad you had a nice visit.  I'm sure you were sad to see them leave.

The funny thing is that if you asked DH, he'd probably say he tires of his own family after 3 days, too -- but he generally enjoys the visitors from my circle.  Not sure what that says about him, his family, or my circle . . . .  Wink

Yes, I'm sad when they leave because there's always the thought of not knowing when you'll see each other again.  Fortunately, my mother is a very young 70-something year-old, and she'll make the trip out here at least once a year as long as she can.

Deb, I'm glad Kate likes her job.  It's refreshing to hear that these days when we know so many people without jobs or stuck in bad jobs because the other options are so limited out there.

Jackie - I hope it's nothing majorly wrong with your new(ish) SUV and it's covered by the warranty. I hate car troubles :(.

Julie - yay for mostly good hearing again and good thoughts for the one ear to heal completely.

This week feels like it's gone by in a blur - wow! I was twice as productive as I usually am because I only had 1/2 the time to get things done Stick out tongue

I took Shane to the TCVM vet this morning and feel pretty disappointed. I didn't care for the hospital at all. Not meaning to sound snobbish but it's the oldest vet hospital I've ever been in and it looks like they haven't spent a dime to update anything. For example, the exam table was a small conference room table with a rubber mat placed on top Hmm. My appt was at 10 and we didn't get seen until 10:20. It was supposed to be a 1 hr consult and we were out by 10:50 and the vet left 2x for close to 10 min's. She also didn't really offer much other than some diet change suggestions and a couple of supplements. I won't be going back.

    Ugh Cathy that sounds horrible!

     That sucks Cathy!

For everyone's entertainment, I have uploaded a couple video's of Dodger in the morning. Enjoy!

I don't think I'd go back either, Cathy.  Sorry it didn't work out.

I called the Ford dealer and they haven't even looked at my truck. Sad Guess I'm going to have to be patient until Tuesday.  Where did I leave my patience? lol

Ugh Jackie - that's why I hate car problems. Are they not open tomorrow?

Other than feeling like I wasted the morning for nothing, I'm super ticked about the charges. It was $105 just for the consult and then she told me she was going to send me home with a cardiac support supplement and carnitine. The total came to $200 and on the print out it just says "herbs" $95.00. It's so unusual for me not to be more outspoken and question stuff, so I think I'm mostly mad at myself. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

DH bought some Mexican takeout and the burrito he just ate was amazing. He gave me a bite and I wanted to run away with the whole thing. Yummy!!

Cathy - that completely stinks.  That happened to me at a new vet once.  I paid by check and stopped the check.  I then sent the vet a registered letter letting them know.  It was a crazy situation (I think I talked about it hear) and they acted very irresponsible.  I know what you mean though, you are kind of in shock and just pay the bill, leave and think - "what the heck just happened".

Well, still having stomach issues - it's been 5 days so I went to the doc this afternoon just to make sure I wasn't ignoring something important.  He started talking about irritable bowel syndrome.  I told him I might believe that if I had eaten anything recently, but I haven't.  He was just going to write me a script but I told him I am not going to just start taking something if you don't know what I have.  He tends to rely a little too much on the prescription pad.  We talked a little more and he thinks I have maybe a bug or something.  Doing the BRAT diet with some pedolyte so I don't get dehydrated.  If it's not better by next week not sure what we are going to do.

Going homecoming shoe shopping tomorrow (hopefully) with my nieces.  It started out with the three of us and has turned into me, Riley, my two nieces, my mom, and my two sisters.  My dad says, "you better call the store ahead of time just to give them fair warning Wink"

I scored two pairs of boots for Riley at Kohl's today.  They have a sale going (not a surprise), but I got an extra 15% off.  I had already bought her a pair of brown boots on eBay, but I think I am going to dedicate those to the horse riding so I don't have to worry if they get messed up.  She is officially set for school.  We go in on Tuesday to meet the teacher and she starts on Wednesday.  Wheeeee

I hope you feel better soon Lisa. It did make me think of a similar incident my SIL had. it turned out she had a form of giardia (do humans get that too?) and they think it might've been from some fresh cilantro. She lost several pounds in a short amount of time before she ended up at the dr. and they put her on antibiotics. She was fine after that. I hope your issue resolves on it's own.
