Mumblin' on a Monday

    Mumblin' on a Monday

Getting out of bed was rough this morning.  We lost power for a good portion of last night and with the rain meant we had to keep all the windows closed and no fans going.  BLECH!  Today we're at 92% humidity.  That's just plain wrong.  Even Ari is looking extra mopey lol.  Moki doesn't seem to care.   I was just glad the power went off AFTER my load of laundry was done in the washer.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Yuck Sharon! Our humidity is at 80% so I understand. Our temp is much lower though at only 66 so it is a cold steam rather than a hot steam.

My visiting corgi seems to be getting used to things finally. She would not settle down and chill out until yesterday. It really makes me appreciate the off button on my aussies. When I lie down to relax so do they.

Abbie got wrapped up in a coil of barbed wire at training yesterday. I was so proud of her. We couldn't get her unstuck and actually had to cut her fur in a few places to get her out. She just sat down and stayed still while we worked. She never panicked or tried to move until I told her to. Of course she also laid in a swamp and rolled in dead things and racoon poop, making the 2 hr drive home hell, but you take then good with the bad ;p

Doc appt this morning. I hope it won't be torture :(

     good luck this morning Julie

I can't recall what normal humidity feels like - its steamy here every morning this summer!

Good girl Abbie! well not the stinky stuff LOL  Bugsy ran THROUGH barbed wire earlier this year <= terrifying.

I have an important appointment later today and DH is all moody about his work. I don't need his negative energy so I told him to not talk to me LOL Now he's moping hahaha

Bugsy has been hanging close to me since our kayak misadventure, keep telling him he should have been more worried when I was in the water hahaha

OK better get going on the busyness

Wow, Julie. The barbed wire incident could have ended so much worse. Good job you and good job Abbie for being calm and escaping unscathed albeit stinky.

My dog visitor went after Buddy twice on Saturday when he thought Buddy was going to steal his food. I was a little surprised, but quickly called the dog off. Nobody was hurt, thankfully.

Marty, from yesterday, sometimes lawn mowing guys will do a few cuts without a contract, except they'll charge a little more that if you'd signed with them for a season. It doesn't hurt to call around.

Weekend here was busy and the regular work week looks the same. Job security.

Oh Abbie! What a good (but stinky) girl!

Super duper GOOD LUCK vibes for your appointment, Julie.

That's all I've got. Back to the grind.

Good luck at the ear doctor, Julie.

Good vibes for your appointment later, Karen.

Tina, glad the visiting dog was called off without a problem.

Nothing new here.  Hot and dry.

I lost my work badge this morning - so annoying.  Go to admin she says go to security.  Go to security, they say admin has to submit form.  Go to admin she says don't have time, get a temp.  Go to security and get a temp.  And this folks is why cars are so frickin' expensive.

Had a very nice and relaxing weekend.  We started school shopping for Riley last night as Old Navy had 20% off!!  Doing some ebay shopping this morning.  So far I scored a pair of Gap jeans for $3 and suede boots for $5!  Whoo hoo!

Julie - hope your ears are better and good job Abbie for the sitting, not stinking, part

Starting to think of Halloween costumes for her.  I typically try to make something and I am at a lack of ideas.  It must be cold weather friendly, can be worn to school, and not have anything that can be used as a weapon Wink

    Nothing new here either.

Gah!  I was at the store yesterday and they had Halloween decorations out front.  It's August!

I have a million things going on this week.  Someone please allow me to clone myself and get the other me doing all the work while I go lay out in the sun by a pool somewhere.  Please?

Good luck at your appointment, Julie!  I really, really hope you get some healing and relief and peace from that.  I simply cringe and get shivers thinking about my ears, eyes, or spine being injured.

Christmas stuff will be out by September, Paige.

The appt wasn't good. The doc isn't very optimistic although he did say that there doesn't appear to be nerve damage, which would mean my hearing would be gone for good I guess. He was concerned that my ear drums closed but my ears are filled with a lot of fluid. That is not normal apparently and is indicative of a more serious injury. (I had a feeling that the amount of fluid that was coming out of my ears was not normal). Anyway, he is going to do surgery to put tubes in. My ear canals are too small to do it in his office. If the ears continue to drain a lot then there's a bigger problem going on. I'm kind of scared of this ear tube thing although I know that lots of people have had it done and it shouldn't be a big deal right? I won't be able to swim or anything for a year though :( That blows.

Aw Julie I wish it had gone better but both my grandsons had to have tubes as children and it went smoothly and they do not have any hearing loss.   ((HugS))

Julie I had tubes as a kid and my niece who had some serious ear issue from birth had them and everything turned out fine. I can totally understand how concerned you are but I am hopeful that this is the fix. I would try to get a second opinion first though.

    • Gold Top Dog

(((Julie))) - I'm so sorry this has turned out to be more complicated than it first appeared. I hope the tubes help with the problem. I also hope they completely knock you out and you get some yummy ice cream when you wake up. Big Smile

Karen - good thoughts for your appt this morning.

Still super hot here and other than Wed. being 98, every other day will be 100+ Sad. On top of the heat, my allergies have been bothering me, so I feel stuffed up all the time.

Speaking of cranky and husbands...DH's OCD about sent me off the edge this morning. He fiddled around with a new water bottle and mount for his bike for quite awhile and then left for his ride. Not 10 min's later he was back and said he was just too worried about the mount wrecking his handlebars, so he wanted to adjust something. When I left for work 1/2 hr later, he was still ouside messing with them and had lost one of the little parts somewhere. He was hunting for it on the ground and looking like his back was starting to hurt him. Oy!!! Hmm
