Ohhhhh . . . owwwww . . . I need an emoticon thing-y showing a pained face with hands over its ears to demonstrate my sympathetic pain for you, Julie! As others said, I've known several kids who've had tubes (including my friend's two children, who had them before they were a year old), and all had good results. I've never known an adult who has had them, but if it's any consolation, I had my tonsils out at age 26, so there's hope for us "grown-ups" who have procedures more commonly done on children. Joking aside -- a second opinion might be worth the time, but if they concur with the advice to have the tubes, I hope you can get them done ASAP so you can get some relief. You poor thing!
This is the brief time of year when I can be grateful that I live in this climate versus where many of you live. Yeah, we've had some hot temps in the past few days (92 yesterday, maybe 3 digits on Thursday), but no humidity. We've yet to leave the A/C on during the night. Fans in the windows work by the time we go to bed (it was 63 when I got up this AM).
Carpet installation began today. We spent yesterday moving every stick of furniture out of the living, dining and master bedrooms. Not fun. I didn't think I had to take things off the walls, but apparently I should have. The guy was in the house 5 minutes and knocked a sconce off the wall, shattering the glass globes. The store where I bought them is out of business now, so who knows if I can replace them. Grrrrrrrrr . . . this whole project has had glitches and headaches from the start! Hopefully I'll forget all about them when everything is back in place and we're enjoying our mini-makeover!
