    Wednesday chat

Oh my, hot and sticky here yet again.  I hate the afternoon headaches that the heat causes.  I soooo am hoping for the thunderstorms they have predicted, just to cool this mess off and give us some relief.....and rain of course.  The garden would like some natural water!

Tyler really seems to be struggling with Sheba's death.  He wanders around looking lonely and just plain miserable.  Sheba was his best playmate so I guess it stands to reason, but, its hard to see him so sad.

OK, off to start getting ready for another day of feeling poached.

    Have a good one all!

Got up at 6:30 this morning and already it was 79 degrees, a/c ran at 7:00. Took Miss Ava for her morning walk, very short one as it was too hot already, so another day in the house all day for her.  Waiting for DH to shower and dress probably will go for breakfast in the meantime, think I'll go clean his man cave.  Have a great day everyone and stay cool.  By the way, this is my day off from the health club. *S*

We are finally getting some much needed rain, thankfully.

Last night DS made homemade guacamole which was delish. I really oinked out on it though. Embarrassed

Today for excitement I am getting my tetanus updated. The last one I had was 10 years ago, which is the supposed lifespan of the immunity it provides. I'm thinking the puncture wound in my foot from the incident on Saturday is probably not going to kill me (I haven't DFO'd yet), but I might as well get updated.

These were the first four items on my weekend shopping list:

Apparently, I care about hot flashes and bone density.

    Cholesterol, however  . . . . . not so much.

Tina - those shots hurt like a mother.  Be prepared to take something afterwards.  Literally, my arm hurt for like 10 days and I am not usualy a whimp about those types of things.

Looks like the heat wave is breaking up here today for a few days.  Riley walked outside yesterday (it was 100+) and said "Oy, it's a hot one".  I am still giggling about it.

Busy busy busy at work.  Stayed up well past 1:00 am last night but at least I feel I have a handle on things now.  I hate that feeling of not knowing everything you need to do - I have a burning desire to plan.

LOL - sounds like good priorities to me

Karen - have you heard anything yet???

Geez Deb, aren't you forgetting something? It starts with a V...

Lisa, kids say the cutest things. Even I am chuckling at Riley's comment. Smile

I would never have to remember to buy Vodka by writing it on the white board.  Buying Vodka is like breathing  . . . it's just something you do without thinking about it.

     Deb - LOL!

It's thundering more than raining but still. yay for a little bit of rain. If only it would rain solid all day. I would do a happy dance.

Riley - haha! Yep yesterday was a hot one. I stepped outside with the dogs yesterday, Abbie walked out on the deck, stood there for 60 seconds then walked back to the door looking at me like Nope, too hot, let me back in the house. I'm sure she was thinking the same as Riley lol

I am working from home today and need to get 2 reports done. I really need to hook up a 2nd monitor for when I work from home. It is almost impossible to do my work with only 1 monitor. The trade off would be that I would need to sit at my desk vs on my lounge chair. That's a big sacrifice!

I'm dying to turn my ac off today but not sure if I should or not. It is still going to be hot and is exceptionally humid but I need some fresh air.

    lol Deb & Riley!

I woke up this morning to find out that the fridge door was left open about a half inch all night. Sad There is an a/c unit in a window nearby, which was running all night, but still. Ugh. I wonder if everything is ok.

I am still super busy, but I am slowly getting everything sorted out and checked off my to-do list.

The kids are at daycare this morning. I'm going to pick Willa up after lunch, and leave Sonja for a full day. Willa and I are taking a parent/kid kayak class this afternoon. Should be fun!

Nope Lisa, nothing yet. I spoke to the headhunter yesterday and she said she would let me know ASAP. It's an odd way of working, to me anyway. I mean they could call today and want me working Monday, I am zinging with nervous energy. If I get it I will have zero time from now until Thanksgiving, so I am preparing as if and trying to tie up all loose ends.

Riley it's another hot one today :)

That is all I've got really, met some new peeps to the 'hood who have three dogs, they have joined the early morning dog/exercise contingent. Eta: Deb that is hysterical. Jan & Willa have fun!!

What a great way to spend the day Janice! Have fun!

    • Gold Top Dog
That kayaking class sounds fun Jan. I hope you can get some pictures. We have a 2 person blow up kayak that we've yet to use.

I'm using one of my vacation days today and it feels so nice not to have to go in. I'm going to go spend some money at Trader Joe's and stock up on some yummy stuff.

It's still going to be gorgeous today but back to the high 90s or 100s this weekend.

Who all is going on the Belize trip? I haven't seen anyone chatting about it much.

    • Gold Top Dog

Me, Janice, Heather and Candace. It should be a really nice trip! Snorkling, kayaking, basking in the sun, plus some side trips to the mayan ruins, through the jungle and tubing through some caves. Maybe some night time snorkling too :) I am really looking forward to this get away!

ETA we are staying on an island off the mainland. It is right near the major reef - which is the worlds 2nd largest reef. Can't wait.

I was debating on buying a real underwater camera but haven't done it yet. I'm going to the Dominican republic next year and wished I had an underwater camera when I went to the Galapagos so maybe it is just time to bite the bullet. I hate those disposable ones.

    • Gold Top Dog
Oh, that does sound like a fun trip. I'm ready for something adventurous like that and wishing I'd signed on :(. Yep, I'd say it's time to splurge on the underwater camera. You know we're going to want to see a lot of pictures :)
