    Monday moaning

I slept a lot yesterday and feel like I could sleep another 5 hrs. The season premier of breaking bad was underwhelming. It was still good but not sit of the edge of your seat good. It looks like they were just setting up the feel of this season. I was supposed to go on a bike facility tour today but canceled. It was an office meeting followed by a bike ride to discuss bike path standards and so forth. It would have been a nice way to spend the day, but I am not in the mood to be in the blazing hot sun today, or drive an hour to get there. So instead I will be a desk jockey all day and only ride to work and back. We are getting back to triple digits this week so says the weather people. I hope they are wrong

I heard mid-90s for the next two days, rain tomorrow, then 82 on Wednesday. We'll see. We need rain desperately. I was at work yesterday at the track and we had torrential rain for a good 15 minutes. I went home (about 2.5 miles away) and we didn't get squat.

    Not much else.

We went out to dinner last night to celebrate my Pop's birthday.  We picked this steakhouse restaurant based on a couple of people's recommendations.  It was soooooooo good !!  It's always such a nice surprise when reality lives up to your expectations.

Hot and humid here for the next three days. We did get about 1/4 inch of rain last night. I'll take it! The garden seemed happy this morning.

Deb, happy birthday to your Dad. It is fun when the restaurant is as good as you hoped!

Hot and humid here - but its July, I expect no less. I did a local hike yesterday afternoon and wow I really lost some fluids. Wiped me out for a bit.

Saturday was one year since B had that lump episode.  Its on my mind because he has two small lumps that I don't think feel like a lipoma so I suppose we are off to the vet yet again

Well I am still waiting any real info on this contract that would make my life easier financially but it sounds like it will be a wild and wooly start and I will need to have my running shoes on Stick out tongue Its a training gig that says there are three weeks of training prior to starting to train folks, that's over now though so I would have to jump right in, good thing I thrive on spontaneity LOL

That's it - I wish I knew more about this contract or knew it was a go so I could sort out a bunch of things..................I am going to push this week to finish up a bunch of smaller things so if it is an immediate start I'll be ready

I hope you guys who aren't used to the heat and humidity get a break soon.  It's here for the duration of the summer in our area and we won't see cooler air or lower humidity until late September or October.

DH cut the grass yesterday and trimmed front and back.  It's so nice to have a lush lawn this time of year.  Sorry for those who haven't had needed rains.

    It's a typical Monday here.

There was a funny email message from our answering service that came in over the weekend.  The message read " so and so called about her a/c fan.  She needs a new one.  Call her right away because she's outside."  Stick out tongue  The answering service can really garble messages and I have no idea what the woman really said but reading the above made me laugh.

Hot and humid here too for the next three days.

I just spoke to a guy from a company I used to contract with. He's probably the nicest person I've ever dealt with from that company. I filed some complaints with a government agency about one of their practitioners. I must be the first person to file a complaint, either that or she just never cared in the past, because I know she did this fairly regularly around other people too. I'm sort of glad I don't work around here anymore, because I could picture a little bit of backlash for "getting her in trouble". Even though everyone knows it's wrong, and I've spoken to numerous people who were annoyed over it (but never bothered to do anything).

My nose is so stuffed and runny today, and I think it basically ran down my throat last night. So, now my throat feels sore. Also, I really, really want a tuna hoagie. I can't decide where to get it from though. The deli, or the sandwich place. I love the salads at the deli, so maybe I'll pick one up there in a little bit.

Edited to add- I decided to try Callie out with a bike last night. We have the attachments from in the past from other dogs. She's not scared, so we can get to work on that. In the process of getting the bike out of my shed, and out of the backyard, I scraped the crap out of one of my legs. My legs are also in desperate need of shaving. Can't do that now obviously, unless I go around the scrapes, and that would just look weird.

Yes, I saw that and I did think they looked like really nice jeans/pants but I'd just never heard of the brand before. If I'd been in the mood for jeans or long pants, I'd definitely have tried them on.

My BFF called last night to tell me she'd tripped in a hole and sprained or broke her ankle. I could tell she was in a lot of pain but hadn't been to the dr. because she was afraid of the cost of the ER or even urgent care. She was supposed to fly in this Sunday for a week and I told her it didn't sound like that was going to happen. She said let's wait and see how it is in the morning. Sure enough, it's worse today. Even if it's not broken, she's not going to be in any condition to fly out here nor would she be able to do any of the things we'd planned, so we're both heartbroken. Mainly I'm sad for her cause life just keeps throwing punches like this. Just getting to the dr. is going to be a challenge because her husband won't help her at all. Sad

I don't want to take a week off and do nothing but I need to use up my vacation time, so I guess I'll be taking a couple days off a week for the next few weeks. Not a bad deal but I'm super bummed about the whole thing.

    Ummm....no comment!  Indifferent

It's rainyish here today...that means no work for me!  I was up early so decided to go fishing.  Yup, in the rain!  I caught all kinds AND even hooked a few squid.  The darn things were shooting ink everywhere.  Fresh fish for supper!

I've got all kinds to do today so I'm sorta happy for the rain day.  It's only around SIX more weeks till school starts up so should probably start organizing things soon.

I sunburned my back yesterday.  OUCH

    Bippidy boppidy boo

Jen, I hear ya on the needing to shave. LMAO! I hate to shave so I usually put it off for as long as I can stand it...

Cathy, I'm so sorry it looks like your visit with your friend won't happen.  I know how it is to really look forward to something special like that; you invest a lot of emotion into it.  I'm sure you're both heartbroken.

Once I wrenched my knee so severely I couldn't put any weight on it for 2 days.  I considered having an ultrasound, thinking I tore something, but miraculously on the third day, it felt 99% better.  I kept it elevated and used plenty of ice and ibuprofen, so I guess it was just inflammation that had to subside.  If your friend does a lot of home-care, she might find it's better in a couple days (if it's not broken, that is).  I'm assuming the expense of the flight is lost regardless, so can't she wait until the last minute to decide?  If she's limping a bit, she'll be able to board the plane early if she brings along a cane or crutches, so that's one advantage.  I hope it works out, and I hope she's feeling better.  Sounds like she needs the visit, too!

We had a busy, but fun weekend.  Our friends who moved to Florida 7 years ago were in town.  We had a group dinner with several people Saturday and got to spend a lot of time with them yesterday at our house.  We met their twin daughters (age 6) for the first time.  So darn cute!  And they were really happy to meet Ruby.  She tried to jump on them a few times, but otherwise did okay.  We crated her for a few "time outs" when she got riled up, but she did wade in her kiddie pool with them, so they had a good time.

Not in the mood for the work on my desk this morning.  Bleh.

I usually don't wait so long, and the scratches are covering probably 1/3 of the front of my leg. If I run a razor over them now, it will probably open them up. If I go around them, it's a big area and will look silly. Oh well, weirdos better not be looking at my legs. I'm feeling crappier as the day goes on. My throat feels worse now, and I just feel blah. Oh well, only two hours of work today, and this kid doesn't beat me up (only the one tomorrow morning actually does that).

I actually told her if she could just find a way to get out here, we could just hang out but that's not what she wants. We had reservations in Lake Tahoe for a few days but it would've involved a lot of walking around. We also planned to go to our state fair and again, it would require a lot of walking around. She broke this same ankle several years ago, so she's pretty sure it's broken again. I hope she's wrong and even if she can't come visit, I want her to feel better soon.

Finally made it here!  Today has been non-stop, and will continue to be.

Hot and humid here as well, but Wed is supposed to be in the 70's with a high chance of thunder storms.  We too got a bit of rain last night and it dropped the temp, but this morning was right back to sauna conditions.  Am I still in FL?  The weather here sure seems like it......
