Cathy, I'm so sorry it looks like your visit with your friend won't happen. I know how it is to really look forward to something special like that; you invest a lot of emotion into it. I'm sure you're both heartbroken.
Once I wrenched my knee so severely I couldn't put any weight on it for 2 days. I considered having an ultrasound, thinking I tore something, but miraculously on the third day, it felt 99% better. I kept it elevated and used plenty of ice and ibuprofen, so I guess it was just inflammation that had to subside. If your friend does a lot of home-care, she might find it's better in a couple days (if it's not broken, that is). I'm assuming the expense of the flight is lost regardless, so can't she wait until the last minute to decide? If she's limping a bit, she'll be able to board the plane early if she brings along a cane or crutches, so that's one advantage. I hope it works out, and I hope she's feeling better. Sounds like she needs the visit, too!
We had a busy, but fun weekend. Our friends who moved to Florida 7 years ago were in town. We had a group dinner with several people Saturday and got to spend a lot of time with them yesterday at our house. We met their twin daughters (age 6) for the first time. So darn cute! And they were really happy to meet Ruby. She tried to jump on them a few times, but otherwise did okay. We crated her for a few "time outs" when she got riled up, but she did wade in her kiddie pool with them, so they had a good time.
Not in the mood for the work on my desk this morning. Bleh.
