Hehehehe!  Of course the resident Goose guard should be the boat inspector!

something about that boat was VERY interesting - had a hard time getting him to leave it. My guess is leftover bait or fish innards LOL

I can't see the picture :-(  I bet Bugsy had fun in his new job! Bugs, we have A LOT of boats (and lobster traps) that you could inspect. Sinbad says there are really good smells on those traps.

Would he qualify to be a Minnesota DNR Zebra Mussel inspector? (Yes, our DNR inspects boats for exotic species-now)

He's wanting a ride out to the geese and seeing if he can launch it himself or whether he needs his helper who has thumbs. Stick out tongue Bet those boats smell fishalicious. :)

hmm definitely some potential there. No doubt a dog could be taught to sniff out just the Zebra Mussels!

(FWIW there are various mussels at this lake and he only eats a certain type - yes he eats them shell and all right from the lake. But only one type Stick out tongue So clearly he can sniff out the ones he likes LOL

He's never been this curious about a boat so this one must have had a good stink to it

I got the email and now I can see it here now, too! Thank you! (I think my computer was cranky this morning.) Bugsy, you are a very good boat inspector. And, Sinbad agrees with you about mussels ('cause they crunch like crab legs). He was "helping" Grandma with quahogs (you probably call them clams) and mussels today--he thought it was good to crunch up some of the shells for her after she took out the meat. Grandma somehow did not agree with his assessment of the situation :-) and sent him outside.

LOL she must have smelled something really good.

He heee, I can well imagine the nose, twitch twitch twitch side to side!  Be VERY GLAD Bugsy could not reach to ROLL in whatever it was!!!!

That's such a funny picture!  I can almost hear him saying, "Yep, everything checks out in here!"

Kate -- I haven't heard someone refer to quahogs in years.  Several of my cousins live near Newport, RI, and one of them used to have a job digging for them.  My aunt served them often at our family/holiday gatherings.

I live just up the bay from Newport! Digging for quahogs for a living--now that is some hard, physical work! I see the guys heading out on their boats a lot of mornings and back in in the evening right next to where our ferry lands at the mainland. I always hope they had a good (and safe) day on the water. What dishes did your aunt make? (We love stuffies and chowder (a.k.a. chowda) here.)
