    Talking on Tuesday

Good Morning all!  Another sauna of a day here.  We did get a bit of a break yesterday in that the cloud cover kept the temps from feeling so bad.  Don't think we'll be as lucky today since the humidity is already up around 86%.  We only seem to get the horrid heat and humidity in short bursts and then we cool off and have pleasant weather, so I shouldn't complain....not that it does any good anyway!

So, here I have this day off in the middle of the week and am sort of at loose ends.  I have stuff that needs doing, but, then again, it's going to be hotter than the hinges of hades so maybe I should just find a shady spot with a strong fan and read?  I can't see that happening!  Will try to do some weeding in the veggies before the heat completely beats me down.  Needs doing and gonna get done aren't always the same in my world!  LOL.

Ok, off to be productive.  Have a great day everyone!

Not much going on here. Just crawling out of bed and have to return some phone calls soon. I am working from home today and have tomorrow and Thurs off. So, this should be a fairly relaxing week.

I'm just sitting around in the mall parking lot, hoping I don't have a problem. I smacked my head this morning against a client's bed (bunkbed, and we're teaching him to make his bed). Now I feel like I'm going to puke. I'm debating what to do at the moment (go home, hang around here and go see the next client at 11). I think I'm going to go to Target for a bit right now actually.

We're getting some much-needed rain. My electricity at home is out, but thank doG the shower still works (gas h2o heater). I had to buy an espresso, though. It's going to be a long day.

send some of that rain a bit south Tina! It seems to be raining everywhere but here.

I got some sad news this morning about an old friend passing away.  She was such a great woman and a wonderful mentor to so many newbie retriever handlers. We judged many junior hunt tests together.  I feel like my world lost a little brightness with her smile gone.

Jen - if you keep feeling ill, you might want to go to the dr. You could have a concussion.

I love my medical team! I saw the P.A. yesterday and she was super supportive about getting my knee checked out further. I have to get an x-ray done but she said it won't show anything. Insurance requires it before the MRI though. She said she'd also refer me for P.T. or even to an orthopedic surgeon if I want. We'll see what the MRI shows and go from there. It may be that there's nothing that can be done but I'm tired of wondering.

Today is my Friday, so I'm super happy about that. I have a hair appt at noon too, so that'll take a chunk out of the work day.

Warming up here and the last couple of days I've gotten what I assume to be hot flashes that sometimes make me feel sick to my stomach. The first few times it happened, I thought I must be getting sick but then it passes. Not fun though.

ETA - Jackie I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. (((Hugs)))

So, my boss approaches me this morning and askes if I am annoyed with him.  I say no, I and pissed.  We go in an office and I tell him exactly that all the issues are and how they come across, etc.  He apologized and I told him that the next time he has a crazy early in the am meeting, I won't be there.

This week is light and it is finally raining here this morning.  Guy in our group gave notice this morning and he's probably going to be walked out since he's going to a competitor.  We are all making light of it and razing him how disappointed he will be if they don't walk him out since he was planning on having the next two weeks off.  LOL

I'm feeling better now. I took some ibuprofen. I actually got off the road twice because I thought puking was imminent. My head still hurts, but I'm no longer worried that I'm going to puke. I'm just hanging around Panera now until I have to go to the next client in an about an hour. I also realized, I actually did eat breakfast early this morning before I went to see the first kid. I really can't eat that early in the morning either (it was pre 7AM). I have no clue why. Even if I'm completely starving (which is why I did eat breakfast before work this morning) and I didn't eat dinner the night before, I usually can't even eat before 8 or 9 AM without feeling sick. Hopefully that was the problem, and not it wasn't from smacking my head.

I actually got the whole day off tomorrow. We moved it to Friday. That's good,  because it'll save me a drive, but it means I'll have a few hours to kill again like today. The poor kid, today's his birthday, and he still had to get up early and do work this morning. Even if he doesn't know it's his birthday, it's  the principle of it. Babies don't know it's their birthday, and you still make a big deal over it. His siblings still know it's his birthday (and his little brother got him a present, and was so excited on his behalf). I don't know, I guess maybe that's just me.

Maybe my brain is screwed up... I started this post 20 minutes ago, and then I got a Facebook message that I went to reply to. Then I completely forgot about this for a while. If I wrote anything really bizarre, then that's probably it.

Jackie, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend :(

Lisa, good for you for telling that man how it is. He needed to hear how his actions impact others

I got my vacation time approved for the end of July. wohoo. I feel a shopping trip coming on :)

I just need to get through this week and next and then I'm on VACATION for a WHOLE WEEK!  I haven't taken a whole week off in 2 years, so needless to say I'm pretty darn excited.  We're driving down to Myrtle Beach and along the way we'll camp a couple of nights, do the Skyline drive (maybe some short hikes).  We'll spend three days in Myrtle Beach for the significant others family reunion.  Then on the way back we'll either camp a night or find a dog friendly hotel.  The next two weeks I'm going to work on desensitizing Ari to the car.  We SHOULD have been trying to do this a long time ago, but we're bad humans.  Her issues are two-fold - really excited about the prospect of going somewhere and there's also anxiety and fear about being in the car.  Basically she goes into overload and turns into a screaming banshee for the first part of the trip (eventually wearing herself out and finally lying down).  I never figured out what happened to her in the car, but she used to be such a good doggy passenger. I took her to work with me most days, and she'd calmly look out the window, wag her tail, or chew a bone.  Then one day, seemingly out of the blue, she turned into the banshee....

I already did some vacation shopping.  I made out like a bandit at Kohls.  I hate clothes shopping, but I just had a day where the stars aligned and pretty much anything I tried on fit and looked good.  I ended up buying 6 new t-shirts, 3 pairs of shorts and 2 skorts.  I actually want to go back to see if I can more of those t-shirts in my size.

    Jen hope you feel better.

Jackie - so sorry to hear about your friend =(

Lisa - two big thumbs up for you!  I'm terrible about confrontations, so I really admire you for saying what you did.
