    monday is here again

It never fails, no matter how much we wish it would stay away ;p I fell asleep on the last hallf hour of the olympic gymnastics. Did they announce the team? I so wish I could be in london for the games. Speaking of which, I think I want to plan a european vacation in the next year or two. Hmm. I am going to try to ride in today, despite the threat of tstorms this afternoon. It is only a 30% chance so...... My brain needs to wake up! Zzzzzzzzz

Karen - I hope you are feeling better!!!

Hi everyone!!!  I have decided to let my boss be the twit and move on...plus he's on vacation all week so I don't have to deal with him.  he he he

Had a wonderful visit with some friends from WI yesterday down in OH - they are moving back home to Jersey with their new baby so we hooked up with them in route for the day.  Their hotel was by an outdoor mall and I scored SERIOUS deals at a Gymboree.  Everything in the store was $13.99 or less and I got two bags of clothes for Riley for less than $60!  The only thing I had to pay $13 for was a silly Octopus purse.  It was so cute I couldn't help myself and Riley had already claimed it for herself.

I am in desperate need of an overnight/all day dog sitter at the end of July.  If anyone knows someone in my area I would be so grateful.  Usually my oldest sister stays with Charlie but the whole family is heading down to Kings Island for the day/night and we are a little worried about finding someone.  Charlie just doesn't do well being kenneled or at a camp type place.  He usually cries and wants to hang with the humans up front and the best thing for him is to stay at home.  He doesn't require much (4 walks a day and a warm bod to snuggle with at night).  The camps stress him out so much that he usually comes home with something wrong.  So, if you know anyone who would want to hang at my place for a day/overnight and eat homemade Lasagna and whatever else to eat they want, let me know :-)

It's a light week here at work.  Most of the company is on shutdown for the week (manufacturing side mostly).  Although we don't have to shut down anymore, its pretty quiet.

Weather is still hot and our grass looks like straw in the back.  Stupid condo association refuses to water more than 3x a week so I think I will just have to start running my sprinkler at night in the back.

    Take care!

Lisa, ask at your vets office. The techs usually do dog sitting on the side.

Monday.  Blech.  And with Tuesday and Wed off, it means a ton of extra work today.

It is going to be scorching hot again today.  Looks like a miserable week all around, weather wise.  We need to seriously start hunting for inexpensive AC units.

Hope everyone has a good day....I'm off to get started on the day.

The rain this weekend was fantastic but the humidity is not. lol

Send some vibes that DH passes his test this morning.  He's not stressed but I am. lol

Vibes going out for Mr. Jackie.

Julie - I checked with the vets.  He's a small mom and pop deal with just a few techs and they weren't interested.  But thanks for the suggestion.

Julie, from Sunday: "Poo duty is never fun on a hot summer day. However, it is better than a cold winter day's poo duty :)"

At least in the winter, it's not stinky, nor does it smear when you try to scoop.  LOL

    Hope Karen is feeling better.

Pass the test vibes for Jackie's DH.

My weekend was hot and uneventful.

Ah Mr Jackie will pass with flying colors!!

I don't feel feverish today, yet anyhow LOL But I woke up yesterday feeling feverish and felt feverish on Saturday but never checked. I usually just chalk it up to sinuses.

Its overcast and I am loving it! The week ahead is going to be 96-102 so overcast is a treat!

A few figs were ripe this morning - YUM!!

The birds are in our fountain 24/7 I am happy to offer them somewhere to clean their wings. Bugsy wasn't too thrilled with the red-tailed hawk's bath though

    Good luck Mr. G !!!

It's Kate's first day at what we're now calling her "big girl job"  . . . Big Smile She's a nervous wreck, but I'm sure she'll do fine.

Good luck Mr. G. I was going to get my allergy shots this morning, but the nurse wouldn't do it, because I have a cough. I have no idea how long I have had this, but I most likely did last week when I went. Nobody has ever asked about that before. They only ever ask if I have taken any antihistamine before. Hopefully I can get rid of it by Thursday or Friday and I can still do it this week. It would be nice though if they were consistent with their questions.

Good thoughts for Mr. Jackie's test today and good thoughts for Kate's first day on the job.

I had such a nice weekend and hated coming in today. I'm taking Thurs and Fri off though, so I only have to word 2 days - yay!! I planted all the flowers I bought plus the seeds Karent sent me and it was the most fun I've had in ages. Everything looks so purty and fresh. I bought a beautiful Hydrangea and I so hope I can keep it alive. They like mostly shade, right?

I have an dr's appt at 4:30 to get my knee checked. The P.A. I'm seeing is super nice and about the same age as I am. The last time I was in, we talked about knee pain and she said she had the same problems I have. It's been bothering me more though and I just want to know if there's anything that can be repaired. I feel so fit and active in general and it depresses me that I can't do all the things I like, especially hiking or walking anywhere that isn't flat.

ETA - I just read that Hydrangeas like a mix of sun and shade but too much shade will kill them. Hmmmm, maybe that's why I didn't have luck with the last one.

She's as good as the people who text all the time. lol

DH passed his test!  What a relief.  Helping him study was a pita.  My head felt like it would explode from all the computer terminology and acronyms.

Yep, just like it sounds Wink

Congrats to your hubby Jackie! I've mostly helped DH and even my ex-DH study for medical-related tests and I always found them pretty interesting. I'd be lost studying for something related to IT terminology. I hope you guys have something fun planned to celebrate.
