Wednesday Chit Chat . . . Deb W.

Lisa, I would be so angry. From what you say about him, he sounds like a grade-A ahole. I mean seriously, reschedule a meeting to show who is in charge? lol Talk about a passive aggressive inferiority complex!

Jackie, I have thought about the stress thing and I do think that she does have a little anxiety coming to bark at me. She is anxiety prone to begin with and super submissive to humans. Earlier in her life, she would get stressed with me standing over her asking her to sit. So, I have to make sure that I am always giving off a super happy relaxed posture when she is running back to me from a find. She has no problem barking at me when we are playing but working is more tense. At the same time though, she is eating grass in the back yard too. So, I don't think it is all anxiety/stress related. It almost seems like she is trying to get moisture from the vegetation to quench a thirst or something. Lily has always been a grass grazer. Neiko doesn't eat grass at all. It's weird.

to 6:30 on Friday morning.  WTH  He said he wanted to make sure they knew who was in charge.

Hmm, sounds like the time he scheduled an early morning meeting for you and then he didn't show up.  He is a horse's behind!  He must be effective if he's in a management position, though, right?  bwahahahah!!  couldn't help it.

I slept on my heating pad last night b/c my back is a mess.  My stomach is a mess, too, so I have a visit to the doctor on Friday.  First time I've been to a regular doctor in, hmmm... 4-5 years?

That's exactly it.  He does that alot.  Overall he is a good boss since for the most part stays out of my stuff and lets me do what I need to do.  However, he does have an inferiority complex big time.  He never moved up through the company and definitely has issues with how young some people are.  I have no problem putting him in his place and he KNOWS I am pissed.  I told him that it made me look bad and he's been stewing on that for a while.

He can't stand it when one of his staff is upset with him.  He's not a bad person, but a good person that does really stupid things for stupid reasons.  He just really needs to retire and stop trying to prove himself.  He's 64 and the only reason he's here is because his wife doesn't want to retire.

I want to go wherever the party is. I'd like to send my DH for boarding and bring Shane though, k?

I hate starting my morning off being ticked off but once again DH let Shane out back (vs. the side run we normally use) and once again Shane starts running and barking and acting crazy and DH has no idea how to get him calmed down. I'm sure the neighbors enjoy this as much as I do at 6:30 in the morning. I end up standing at the slider and saying "come" and Shane zooms to me and DH looks sheepish and says "well, that was a bad idea". Really? Ya think? Super Angry

I'm hungry for something yummier than oatmeal and yogurt this morning and wish I'd stopped and bought something on the way in. A breakfast burrito would really hit the spot.

Yeah, it's definitely a "leave the men at home" party. Dogs are welcome. Smile

It's warming up a bit but the nightrs are still cool.  As long as the temp is still in double digits, I'm OK with it.  I'm going with a neighbor to a new Indian restaurant downtown for lunch - it's called Yeti.  Isn't that Bigfoot?  Odd name for a restaurant. I just remembered that the yard guys come today, so I'd better go outside and scoop.

The only reason I don't retire is because my wife did. It's easier to just go to work than try to keep up with her retirement activities. I don't believe she really understands the meaning of "retired".

LOL Doug. I'd be the same way as your wife. I plan to read more and take frequent naps but there are so many things I want to get done and things I want to learn. I'd drive my husband crazy if we were both retired.

DH and I will drive each other crazy when that day comes.  I'm very active, he can get into vegging like no ones business and that drives me bonkers.

    Is it Friday YET?

Doug - too funny!  I've heard several people (almost all of them women) say they're busier now that they're retired than they were when they worked.  It must be that genetic disposition females have for being social creatures!

Lisa, your boss sounds like a piece of work.  A meeting at 6AM?!  I'd be tempted to come to the office in my p.j.s and fuzzy slippers!

Paige, I hope your back and stomach feel better.  Sleeping on a heating pad helps, but sometimes I wish I had one on my chair at work when my back is really bothering me.

Sounds like you'll have quite a group of party-goers at your house, Tina.  If I bring some chocolate, can I come, too?

I found out last night that my SIL and BIL are arriving on Tuesday for several days.  Talk about last minute travel plans.  Remember the series of posts we had some time ago about being "event-driven cleaners" and preparing for houseguests?  Well, I'll be in that mode this weekend.  Oy.

No pizza for me tonight. I was plugging away at the thing I need to finish, and I got stuck with a graph because the program I would like to use won't cooperate. I might have to use excel (and I hate excel for graphing this type of stuff). Anyway, I really want pizza, but I decided I could only get it if I finished my work before I went out to the walk meetup tonight. It's not done, so no pizza. I did work for 2.5 hours on it though. I'll have to come back and work on it more when I get home, and hopefully I'll have it mostly finished, and down to the point of only needing minor edits tomorrow when I have free time between clients. For once, we get something in early, and this is the one time they kick it back to us for more. I have no idea why we're even addressing on thing. I really can't take care of that problem any more than I have already done in the past. I can't control what a kid does when he's being largely ignored (not that anyone is ignoring him maliciously, just that they are doing  other things, making dinner, cleaning, living their lives, and they're watching him, just not interacting with him). I can't completely get rid of the problem because those situations will occur. People have to live their lives.

I can vouch for the fact that if men veg before retirement, they just do more of it afterwards!  It's like having a kid around again...That's why women get busier...sigh.

But I have to say that I do miss it...can we try that over again?  Don't forget to enjoy the day, because you can't read the future

    A good reminder Marty (((Hugs)))

Jen - I think 2.5 hours warrants a pizza but that's just me and now I'm hungry for pizza too. Pizza
