Thanks for the reminder, Marty.  ((((hugs))))

    Very true

When DH tried being retired my neighbor gave me a plaque that said, " a retired husband is a full-time job" LOL

My DH isn't cut out for having nothing on his plate - that leads to trouble. He isn't the sort of guy you leave a to-do list for either so I keep encouraging him to work Big Smile

mulch mountain is conquered. I could have used a bit more but I am very glad I got it done before the heat wave

I just heard on House Hunters one of the home seekers refer to their dog as a Golden Labrador.  Why does that always make me want to scream?  I once wrote to a book author chastising him for the same thing.  He actually wrote back and said he didn't realize his mistake as he had heard many use the same description.  I felt so silly afterwards for even letting it bother me much less writing a letter. Embarrassed

Why am I wide awake when normally I'm ready for bed by this time?  Too much going on today has my mind stuck in high gear.

My mom thought my dad wasn't cut out for it, but in fact they are both loving it!  He does keep very busy though and drives her a little crazy.  he used to travel 3 out of 5 days a week so him just being home was an adjustment.  We now call them nomads because they are never home :)

    Very good reminder marty.

We passed our test but it was hellish. No wind, extremely dense vegetation which allowed no scent to travel, hot and humid. I got frustrated right from the start because there was no way we could fine grid our sector, which is what is needed for these scent conditions, in the amount of time we had. I kept it in my head though that I had to stay happy and up beat for abbie to do well and she did. Our victim was way inside this one area that had weeds that were taller than my head and it was so thick abbie couldn't push through most of the time. She was deer jumping through it when she finally got scent then just barked at me to say, someone is here but hell if i can figure out where. So we worked it out together until she found them. She did good and was so worn out by the end she flopped down on the ground...something she never does!

Now i need to wind down and try to get some sleep. I have to be in the field tomorrow and its going to be 105.
