Ditto! Yesterday was just brutal--no breeze off the water. Yuck. I hope the storms get here soon, but I know it won't be until this evening.

Back to work--approving stipends for my grant students who completed their grad course(s). Yeah!

 insane storms rolled through here yesterday early evening - dropping 3-4 inches of rain in 45" BUT it missed us by about 1/2 a mile. So my green grass is browning in front of my eyes as well as all my 'purty' flowers. Storms in the forecast every day for the next 5 days so we should get some water.

A real break in the heat is supposed to happen Tuesday, we'll see.  In the meantime its so neat to go out for a walk at 5:30 or so and meet 6 other dog walkers all trying to beat the heat. Such a friendly neighborhood

DH's son just told DH that he's all stressed about things..............so of course DH is like oh poor him. I am counting backwards in an attempt to not explode but it isn't working. Man it all peeves me!

I have an extra day of teaching today so should get out of here

Deb I saw a watermelon and honeysuckle drink in Southern Living last night - that is what I would like this evening at the Tiki bar

Good thoughts continued for Riley today.

Cathy, from late yesterday, it may have been an audit at the insurance company that caused them to find the policy on your dad. I hope it didn't dredge up too many painful memories and emotions.

For Karen:

Tequila Honeysuckle w/ Watermelon
1.5oz Tequila
3/4oz fresh lime juice
3/4oz honey syrup(2 parts honey, 1 part water, brought to a slight boil and then cooled)
2-3 watermelon pieces (approx. size of an ice cube)
Lightly muddle the watermelon and then add the Tequila, lime juice and honey syrup. Shake all the ingredients over ice and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a watermelon wedge.

I am sooooo glad it's Friday and really look forward to getting thru this day and enjoying the weekend. It's only going to be 75 today and 73 tomorrow and it actually feels chilly this morning. The news is showing people out playing with ski doos on the lake and it looks so fun but I'll bet that water is brrrrrr cold.

Quick update - Riley is out of surgery and fine other than mad at Lisa :)

From yesterday, i was confused the whole time thinking Macie was Gracie! duhhh  My vet office isn't too bad but it can have its moments i guess.  I can be the biggest arsehole around when these things happen to me!  I've gotta soon put my bad side away...it's been out for the past half year or more!  An easy way to expend stress perhaps.

I've had skydiving on my mind LOTS as of late but now that I was accepted into a fall program for College I'm a little nervous about spending money now.  pout pout  If there's any millionaires out that that would like to be my skydiving sponsor....hehe. 

The rain is just starting and it's supposed to stay for the next 4 days!  pout pout...AGAIN

Thanks for the update, Karen!  Glad Riley's fine other than being mad at momma. Poor moms can't catch a break sometimes.

Yay - that is great news about Riley!!

Has anyone bought the Himalayan dog chews? If so, are they worth the price?
