Tuesday Talking (Deb W.)

    This is a Segway:

Sometimes you see the Police use them in airports or other ares where they have to cover a lot of ground.

PF Chang's is a Chinese food franchise restaurant - they're all over the US.

Didn't the Segway Co. owner die because he drove one off a cliff?

Yeppers !!!  I rode one once when they demo'd them out here.  All I kept thinking was all the IOD claims I was going to have to process if we got them. LOL

LMBO.....never saw anyone around here hearding cows with one....ha!    I have only seen them on tv guess I never paid attention to the name.

PFChang's  not sure there is one around here cause we dont usually do Asian food.  I like it ok ,, but hubby is not real keen on it.

    Thanks for the education,lol!

Our neighbors have a Segway.  The first time I saw it, I was pulling weeds, and I heard a humming sound coming down the street.  I looked up to see my neighbor zipping by on one.  I'd only seen them on TV, so it was odd to see him wave and carry on down the street!  I've seen him pulling his daughter in a wagon hitched to the back of it.  I don't know . . . I understand their value in some places, but in the average suburban neighborhood, it seems a bit lazy to me!

We have a PF Changs about 40 miles from us.  Always mobbed.  I enjoy it if I happen to be in the area, but not enough to make a long drive just for that.  We don't have any really good authentic/independent Chinese restaurants right here in town, but we've got a couple really great Thai ones that I love!

Congratulations to your husband, Jackie.  So nice to hear of someone with happy career news in the current job market.

Ginger, I'm glad your husband didn't have a more severe allergic reaction to the bee sting.  It's a good thing you went to the ER, just in case.  It sure sounds painful!

Back to grey skies and drizzle today . . . blech.

Deb, I'm going to finally bite the bullet and have the carpet ripped out and put in tile.

I so want to do that too. I hope you'll share some pics of what tile you pick.

I've never been to PF Changs but I've tried their food (frozen from the grocery store) and I wasn't impressed enough to think I'd want to go all the way into Sacramento to try the restaurant.

I think we're still having a heat wave, but at least the wind stopped. Weather bug says it's 75 and it's almost 11 a.m. so it will most likely hit the mid to high 90s by 5 p.m.  I think before it gets too much warmer I'm going to go out and add some more solar lights to the back yard. I put one right in front of each plant pot but I'd like to put them between the pots.  Last year Max kept knocking them into the pool in his never ending quest to catch a squirrel, but there doesn't seem to be as many squirrels this year.

No kidding!  We have laminate in the kitchen and they all love to lay on that floor when it's hot.  Not that easy to cook in a small galley kitchen with four dogs sprawled out. lol  I'll probably have the kitchen redone in the same tile as the rest of the living/dining area as it's all connected and would look odd otherwise.  Spending money makes me nervous but I've put this off forever and I'm so sick of carpet I could scream.

Now I'm really curious about PF Chang's. Obviously someone likes it, because it's always packed, but it seems nobody I can find is that enthralled with it.

My right arm still has a large, warm red spot. It's really fricken annoying.

One of my mom's friends got sick, and the other didn't show up, so it was just me and her for lunch.

Why am I looking at the Cavalier Pedigree website? I have no anticipation of getting another one for several years. Maybe while I still have Luke I would get another one, but I couldn't even set a potential year for when I might get another one. Still though, I check his breeder's website occasionally, and there is another breeder I've been eying recently who breeds cavaliers for agility. I didn't get Luke for any sort of performance, but I am very happy with what I got. So, my debate to be debated for the next several years is whether to go to the person who breeds for sport, or to stick with the same breeder. I really just lucked into getting such a great dog. He was the only one she had left, and they considered keeping him. I had no idea what Flyball was 3 years ago, but now that I know what it is, I'm pretty sure I'd like to continue with it. I've also been curious to know how closely related Luke is to the other Cavaliers in the area who are in Flyball. The ones from the other team out of where we train didn't register their dogs for their racing numbers with a registered name, so  I would have to actually meet them and ask to find that out. There's also another one who has just gotten started. I need to look her up and see if her registered name is listed.

Yeah, so that was all mindless rambling, and now I need to get to work.

Well they have survived the Segway tour in the rain :). Jackie I told our guest that I would give $20 for a short video of DH's first minutes on it. He is so inflexible I am sure it was hysterical.

We have PF Changs here and some people love it, I prefer authentic Chinese food so have avoided it.

Yea for all tile floors, I would love to rip up all the carpet and put wood floors down everywhere but the bathrooms & kitchen which are tile.

My neighbor that fostered all the young pittie pups has a 6 mo old female pittie mix for a bit and once again B is thrilled - the chase scene this morning was quite something. She's fast but her legs are half as long as his so when he wanted he just stretched his stride and she had no chance. Fun to watch.

I know I had more to say but ......well you know

You are going to LOVE having no carpet in that area.  I grew up in a house with no carpet, and when I moved out and rented for years, I always knew once I bought a house, I would never have carpet again.  My hubs says he would like it in the bedrooms, but that is a battle I promise he will NEVER win with me!  With animals and kids, I will always have leather furniture and hard floors if it is within my control.

Karen, I really want to see this video!  lol

I have had PF Chang's once.  I think I liked it but would never wait in the line for it.  We just go to Pei Wai if we are in the mood for that kind of food, but the Szechuan here is actually our favorite and it's cheap!

I haven't been around as much lately.  I feel like I'm chasing my tail these days.  My mom is at her clinical trial right now.  She hasn't been able to take the meds the last 3 times because her levels were too low.  I am hoping she gets to take it today bc today and next week are her last chance before she will get kicked out of this trial.  They said they will find another one for her if that happens but this one has been easy for her to tolerate.

She has actually had a lot of good days lately, with the exception of a week stay in the hospital for multiple infusions, but I do see her declining in other ways.

On a happier note, my baby boy turns a year old in just over 2 weeks!!!  I am counting down the days to no longer pumping!!!!  lol

Thinking good thoughts for your mom Sarah and happy birthday early to your baby boy.

I have tile in my kitchen and large entryway but I'd like to rip it and the carpet up and do the big tiles. I think I might want to leave carpet in the formal living room though and I do like it in the bedrooms but that would be it. It would be a tough choice between hard wood and tile but I think tile is more forgiving in terms of scratches and showing dust/dirt.

breastfeeding is the hardest thing I have ever done!  well that and caring for a newborn LOL.

we're still around, although I dont have the mental capacity to post pictures to a site to get them here but if anyone wants to steal them from FB feel free to share here:)  we're doing better although I'm not sure how many more days/weeks of 4 hrs sleep or less I can function on.  Little Sophia Jolie was born 5.18.12, 1:09 am after nearly 47hrs of labor.  she's lucky she's cute!

Let me try this... I made it public.
